I have had gas filler issues a few times. Usually just turning the nozzle upside down will allow you to fill it. Only had once that I was unable to fill it.

Brake fluid seepage from the reservoir cap.

The gas fill up is definitely weird. I have an Esso station I have to turn the nozzle upside down at 11 o'clock and fills up no problem, otherwise it stops at 3/4 full. But another Esso station all the pumps work fine. Also, the break reservoir cap is an issue with 05 and 06, not sure about '07. I took about 1/2" of fluid out of my reservoir and haven't had it leak since. I also had the clunk sound in the front passenger side. I don't think anyone has figured that one out. Mine went away when I swapped out my suspension. Other than that I haven't had any problems and I'm at one year and 16.5k.

The brake fluid seepage is STILL a problem with the latest 2007s.

Yes, the 2007 brake fluid on my cap is leaking...I added the washer behind the rubber and it is fine...You would have thought Ford would have corrected that problem by now....Other than that, I Love my Mustang...

Right there >> that's PRECISELY the sort of thing that leads me to believe that it's still fundamentally "business as usual" at Ford. Despite all the Bold Moves marketing rhetoric one gets the impression that management is still more concerned with cost-cutting than quality.

And that is such a simple thing for them to fix, too. There's absolutely NO excuse for the '07s to still have that problem. It says loud and clear: "We don't care."

The sad thing is that is what I have come to expect from Ford. After 38 concerns with my '01 Lightning (which still rattles like it's going to fall apart) I said I'd never buy a Ford again. Then this new/old Mustang comes out and well... I wont even get into all of the problems my family & friends have had with Ford. My Mustang has a ton of squeaks and rattles for a 8k mile car but it is a vert so I expected a few. I hate to say it but I think Ford will go out of business before they change their old ways.

This is basic stuff we're talking here >> core competencies when it comes to manufacturing.

NO '07s should have leaking brake fluid caps!

If Mulally can't address the fundamentals like these before the end of next year - and exterminate the beancounter permeation in all facets of production - he might as well pack up and go home, because all his other efforts will be for naught.

I sent an email to TRW regarding the brake fluid leakage. I am not sure why this problem has gone on for 3 model years.

TRW is a tier 1 automotive supplier that specializes in brake systems and other safety systems: http://www.trw.com

You can find their logo on almost all the brake parts on the S-197 GT: ABS pump, vacuum brake booster sticker, calipers, master cylinder fluid reservoir, etc... I just assumed they would make the or source out the caps as well and they ought to hear directly from an end-user customer.

TRW Engineered Fasteners & Components Opens New Plant in Langfang, China

LANGFANG, China, Nov. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- TRW Automotive's Engineered Fasteners & Components business today officially opened a new plant in Langfang, China. TRW Automotive Components (Langfang) Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of TRW Automotive Holdings Corp. (NYSE: TRW), will manufacture interior components such as air registers and center bezels.

Located 60 kilometers from Beijing, the new facility joins TRW's well- established operations of braking products and engine components in the area. The 6,900 square meters of operating space will initially be equipped with up to 20 injection molding machines, with the potential to increase this number to 50 by mid-2008. The plant is expected to employ up to 100 people by the end of 2007.
Well, that pretty much explains EVERYTHING.
