Go now and get the loan tell them you are ordering and they will do the rest. I ordered on 9/25 and it should arrive 7-10 days. I'm going Tuesday to order.

I started the loan process online, and I was approved, but not rate was given. I should get a call tomorrow from the Credit Union. Hmmm but should I still order today? I think I will, the longer I wait the longer before I can drive my Stang!!

Happens on EVERY vehicle in the line up, multiple times per year. Has nothing to do with just the Mustang, all vehicles will be effected. It will also happen a couple of more times before the 2006 prices get announced, common practice. The give minimal price increases throughout the year, as opposed to one giant one at model year changeover.
not to mention that if the 05 was a continuation of the 04, it probably would of gone up about 400 bucks. That it underscores 04 pricing now is amazing in itself.

From what I see, Ford is really screwing up this whole Mustang intro. :notnice: To be honest I am surprised that they got the Mustang so right  So many deletions to the original, not being able to supply options. They really know how to take away all the thunder they created. The excitement is rapidly waning. :notnice: Bill Ford, get with the program. :bang:

Ford isn't the only manufacturer to raise prices during the production year. Toyota does this too. I too have one on order and I need to get with the GM to get the price in writing, since mine is an X-plan deal.

My salesman wrote my X-plan price nice and big on the order sheet I signed... $26,300 baby, and not a penny more

(well, plus tax and tags, so like 1420 more...but thats it...)

Make sure your dealer doesn't play games with you. Sold orders are price protected, so the price increase is refunded to the dealer. The pricing is set right around the actual build date, this is when the car is actually invoiced to the dealer. If you agreed to $x over, make sure they don't try to grab you for the increase if your order was placed prior to the price increase.
Karpro: Not to belabor an old thread, but let me be sure I have this straight...

If I sit down to place my Xplan order for my 2005 GT this afternoon after a test drive, I will get the original / old Xplan price, not the increased price that starts 11/29/04---regardless of when Ford pulls the order and builds the car?

As long as the Dealer submits the order before 11/29/04, we avoid the price increase---Is my understanding correct?

Thanks.

Yes, but make sure you have the price in writing and guaranteed. Ford does price protect sold orders, but they refund the dealer the increase after it is sold. The invoice that comes with the vehicle will list the new higher x-plan and alot of dealers will try to charge that and pocket the refund. Get the ACTUAL number as well as the fact that it will be price protected in writing.

Anything else I should know or do, or get in writing?

I know to ask them for a copy of the DORA tomorrow morning (or maybe Monday since tomorrow is Saturday).

Anything else??

I have to agree. The "most anticipated car in America" and this is how it goes. I just don't get it.
