Premier Trim Question
Premier Trim Question
I've got the Premium (NOT Premier
) Trim option which is the stitching on the dash, console cover and arm rests.
I just took a friend for a ride and he is convinced that the dash is leather - he said because the stitching is real, not molded.
I think the dash is vinyl.
Anyone know for sure?

I have it as well and it's "pleather"... The only leather in the car is located on the steering wheel, and the perforated seat inserts. The rest is vinyl/pleather. That's not necessarily a bad thing... vinyl will probably hold up better

Yes, I'm glad it's not leather. That would NOT be the place to have it.
Most modern leathers have some type of poly-vinyl coating on the surface to lock in the color and to prevent fade from the sun. I think they still need to be treated with some type of cleaner and conditioner. I have used 303 Aerospace protectant to protect plastic and vinyl in the past, and I haven't heard any warnings not to use it on finished leather.
The only thing in the car that is real leather as most people know it is the steering wheel.
If the seats are indeed leather, they are not top grain. What they are are a slit leather that has been embossed with a vinyl coating.
It will last long, and wear nicely I believe. But true leather it is not.
On the flipside. If any of you have ever owned a porsche with a full leather interior, where the dash pad, headliner, etc were all leather, you know that the leather on the top of the doors and on the dash pad start to look like crap in a short timespan even with constant treating, etc. The sun just bakes it.
