Powered by Ford Badge
ZONASVT has the old ones on his and he said he'd post pics, I'm waiting to see pics of that. If the new ones will not be available publicly I may have to go that route, but I really like the new ones better!
Thanks...that's a good idea, I'll ask him.

i highly doubt that it's a ford part, more likely a shelby part...i remember somewhere a post by AmyB where they decided to remove the GT emblems to go with this. I like the older ones, plan on finding a spot for those under the hood.
I wonder how the new and old compare dimensionally?
The "PBF" badges on the new Shelby GT are larger than the ones on my car and I actually would prefer the newer ones if I had the opportunity. Good luck getting those from Shelby, however. I recall AmyB saying that the hood scoop for the Shelby would not be available as an aftermarket part -- so I assume the badges would be the same.

Isn't the hood scoop the same one that is in the GT appearance package and C/S model? That is to say, you should be able to order it from any Ford parts dealer...
Back on target, that badge on the Shelby looks great...and the black paint w/ Black/polished wheels looks KILLER!
No, the scoop on the Shelby GT is not the same as on the Gt Appearance Package. The Ford part looks alot like the Roush scoop. The Shelby part flares out where it meets the hood, and has fake rivets all the way around to make it look like that's how it's mounted. They did that to try to make it look like the scoops on the '60's Cobras.

Ahhh, my mistake.
No Problem. If I had had my camera with me last week I would've gotten some great pics of it, including under the hood. But I was on the motorcycle, and didn't have the camera. The next day I went back and the car had moved, so I couldn't take any pics.
There should be some on here somewhere, I know Amy B. talked about the design of the hood scoop a while back.

How come they're not concerned about GT500 clones?
It might be because it is VERY difficult to make a GT500 clone that someone could pass off as a real GT500 to a buyer. You would have to replace fascias, add the real engine, and find all the other unique components (ie-gauges, seats, etc) in order for someone to think it was a real GT500
The Shelby GT, on the other hand, is somewhat easy to duplicate. It's *basically* just a spoiler delete CS with black bullitt wheels and silver stripes. That could be done quite easily.
Yes, I know that the hood scoop is a little different, and that there are some other minor differences b/w the CS and the shelby. But, it is basically a GT/CS that is then sent to Shelby for their "unique" touches.

All of the GT500 parts are manufactured by Ford, and put on the car when it is assembled, this makes the parts available for Ford dealerships to sell. The Shelby GT's are built as stock cars by Ford, and then sent down to Shelby in Las Vegas where they are upfitted with the hood scoop, fender badge, etc. I imagine they are concerned about GT500 clones, but they can't do much about it, where as with the Shelby GT they can hold onto their little parts and feel special.
Personally, i don't think anyone would try to "Clone" a Shelby GT anyways, putting a hood scoop or a fender badge doesn't mean they are cloning it, just taking an available part that looks good and adding it to their car. There are alternatives to the Fender Badge, such as the Scott Drake badge that is offered at http://www.partscheap.com/scottdrake05.htm
It is similar, but not quite as "modern" as the Shelby GT one.
