It would be sweet if the SUVs started taking on some resemblance to the Bronco concept, but what would make me really happy is if they bring the little guy back...

The 427.

Only one sketch of the futura/400 exists, not one single spy photo. The 400 is supposed to cary 427 cues, but be based on the mazda 6 platform. The 427 is rwd big-v8 sedan. the concept uses the 3.9.

The 500 even was 100 times harder then the stang to get pics of.

Ford knows how to hide what it wants too.

Being a big fan of the Barris Batmobile, I wonder what the Futura will look like.

Hadn't Ford already changed to the Explorer pre-OJ? That was 1994, summer after my freshman year in high school. I remember watching the chase while on vacation at Disney World.

The Bronco ran through 1996. When the F-150 changed body styles in '97, the Bronco didn't, it just died.

*The next Ford Lightning will be out after the 1st of the year, but before the spring. It will out accelerate & will be less expensive than the SRT-10 Ram. But it's not likely to be anywhere near the $32,000 steal the last one was.

I think it is important to note that the Shelby Expedition has both cosmetic and performance upgrades. I find it hard to believe that a Shelby Mustang would be purely cosmetic.
SWEEEEET! I love the Lightning! And what's up with the Shelby Expedition? Haven't heard anything about that yet... Maybe Carroll gonna suprise with a Shelby version of the big 'ol thing. I can just see it now. ***A black Expedition with two gold Le Mans strpies and rocker panels!***

The Bronco is mean looking but lacks any real functionality. The first broncos are extremely worthy trail machines. The had Huge V8's a stought driveline, and great axles. Being a Jeep guy, all our boards were buzzing when that Bronco showed up. Here's the catch: They listed it as being based off the Escape platform. That gives it IFS and IRS. They also noted it was FRONT WHEEL DRIVE with the possibility of an AWD system. That Bronco concept is all show and no go.

Many concepts are.

It also had a Turbo Diesel motor that was hooked up on shots of nitrous oxide. That won't be coming from the factory.

A production model might be more trail worthy if it's made.

The rumors are strong, expect to see the Bronco in the not so-far future. Even the Rep at the Cleveland Auto Show said if enough people want it, Ford will build it. And we know Ford loves to build Trucks and SUV's!

I hope Ford makes something close to that 49 Ford Concept!! I love that thing!

Did you read "inside" somewhere?

The next generation Wrangler (TK, current model is a TJ) WILL have solid axles front and rear. It also gets rid of the 4.0L inline 6 and is replaced with the Liberty's 3.7L V6. The TK wont have some of the TJ's rugged look due to crash standards but it wont lose it's off road capability like all Ford vehicles. Is it wrong that Ford SUV's sport IFS and IRS and their flagship sportscar still has a solid rear axle?

All Bronco's (except Bronco II) have been seriously capable off road machines since their inception. To replace them with an SUV based off of the Escape and make it front wheel drive is a disgrace to the name.

I just sold my 1976 Bronco, and am a huge fan. Got to see the concept in person at the NAIAS. If Ford brings back the Bronco, it isn't going to be on the Escape platform, but one from our overseas brothern, Land Rover. The Defender 90 is coming back in 2007-8, but much tamer than the pre-1997 defenders, and the Bronco and Defender are rumored to share the same platform. These will not be body on Frame trucks, but rather unibody vehicles.

Just go out and spend 10k and get an original 1966-1977 Bronco. As far as the 66-77 Broncos having big V8's, my 1976 from the factory had a 302 2bbl pumping out a wicked 140HP! I could barely get that truck up to 80mph on the Highway, and it got 10mpg. Great and capable vehicle.
