On my way to work this morning, i spotted an odd site. A red 2005 mustang on the side of Pecos Rd. With test equipment strapped all over it. It had the same cobra like hood from the motor trend magazine photo, with the single scoop in the middle. He seemed to be testing short bursts of acceleration (the speed limit is '50') and braking. The car was pretty deafening. Don't know what this was, but maybe a "mach1" or a really rich guy that can afford his own test equipment? Wondering if anyone else noticed this car around today, or the last couple days. I live in Ahwatukee (phoenix) arizona.

P.S. After i arrived at work i just about beat myself for not taking pictures with my camera phone.

EDIT: I just think its pretty sweet that theres a test car out in my area, this part of phoenix is super small town (probably why they chose here)

I'm guessing Phoenix was chosen more for the warm weather than the size.

Ford has a proving grounds down here. Starting late spring or so of last year I started seeing "mule" cars on Queen Creek road near I-10 two or three times a month. Sad to say, the closest I ever got to seeing a factory road test up close was a pack of 12-15 Chrysler minivans last year. :notnice:
