Those look great!

I have been thinking about anodizing mine blue but I have 3 questions...
Are the valve covers Aluminum or Magnesium?

Can the plastic components be removed (without destroying them)?

Are there any steel components on the underside (like baffles, etc.)?

Thanks -

Thanks for the feedback! I love the anodized look. Still may have that done...

A1) Ya know I'm not 100% sure, but I think they're magnesium. I'm almost positive I read that somewhere.

A2) The plastic pieces can be removed, but I didn't. I taped around the oil filler neck etc. But, if you're taking (I'm guessing you'll have it done) to get anodized, they'll remove all of the platic parts for ya. There's only a few.

A3) If I remember correctly, there one that sits under the oil filler hole. Not sure if it's steel. I would guess it is.

Hope this helps! Send pics when you get yours done.

I was thinking they were Magnesium too... And I believe that requires a different electrolyte than for processing Aluminum parts. Which means I will have to use a different supplier.

The steel can not go through the anodization process. I wonder how it is fastened to the cover.

I will have too look into this in more detail before I tear into it...

You know, the polished look is looking even better to me now.

Thanks for the info.

No prob. If I remember right... the baffles are spot welded on. You would think they have a way around this.(?) I know others on the board have had the anodizing done. Maybe do a search to see what you can find.
