Nice looking Mustang! I like seeing the snow. Where do you live.? How does your GT perform in snow country?

Nice handle on your colt too.

Looks good. Get it out of gear, though. Never park in gear unless you're parking on a large hill and the ebrake won't hold it. It's not good on the drivetrain, and if your foot slips off the clutch when you start it up, you'll be in for a fun time.

Huh, I always park in gear with the ebrake on. I never thought it would harm the drive train, never heard of that before. In fact it says in the owners manual to park in gear w/ebrake and even has a warning box at the end of the section again reiterating to park in gear w/ebrake and to never park with the transmission in neutral.

I was always told never to park in gear. In fact, when I got my first stick, I did. I had just got it, forgot about it, took my foot off the clutch and jumped a parking block, literally landing on another car. After that, I parked in neutral. My dad and any mechanic I've talked to about it says to always park in neutral. On flat ground, you won't harm the drivetrain, but again... you're running the risk of the car suddenly moving.

I am in north eastern PA. This car is a mess in snow, have no control. How is it in the rain? Yes the car needs to be vacuumed.

Well, all of you are saying you also use the eBrake. Maybe that's the difference. I was told never to park in gear without the eBrake. But I always put it in neutral, to avoid accidents. It doesn't do any good, that I can see, leaving it in gear on flat ground.

Nice car and congrats, enjoy it in the snow but when spring come.....it will be even better.
I've always parked my sticks in 2nd, so incase your foot slips off you don't lunge as fast/

Enjoy the ride! Take it to a snowy parking lot and play around, get the feel for when shes gonna lose traction and how to control and recover. Good fun and good practice!

The only time I use the ebrake is on a grade, or when leaving the car running and get out. I never use the ebrake at home or work, all flat ground.

Leaving the car in gear while parked hurts nothing. The only way I could see that being an issue MIGHT be in San Fran where the hills are huge. I've had nothing but sticks and parked every one in gear. Adding the ebrake on a hill is definitely recommended.
