People with the Shaker 1000 system
#41
Back to the number of Speakers... The Mustang Brochure states:
"Shaker 500 Audio System - Two door-mounted subwoofers are a part of the system's 8 speakers..."
"Shaker 1000 Audio System - 10 premium Audiophile speakers, including 4 subwoofers (2 door-mounted ad dual 500-watt subwoofers in the trunk)..."
So that's EIGHT speakers for the 500 and TEN for the 1000.
And yes, they don't use the words "premium Audiophile" to describe the 500's speakers, so there must also be some sort of speaker upgrade in the 1000.

[QUOTE=Lynx4Ben,October 27, 2004, 5:11 PM] Once again I didn't say work. I have been doing competitions for 7 years. Anyway, why don't u answer my question. How do you measure audiophile? Since that is your standard for buying equipment.
OH! don't go yet! I only have about $5000.00 worth of high quality Japanese AUDIOPHILE Beatle pressings. NOT CD'S, like you stated previous. There is a big difference there also you know!
You alone should know, that you can have all but the nicest sound in the world.
But if you haven't got a half decent set of speakers to send it out, not much sense in putting out the money for the sound in the first place!
Kind of being like.........All dressed up, and nowhere to go!
Personally, I think the ones that have chosen the 1000 on this board are in for a treat! But, by the way your talking, they have more money than brains. I don't think so dude.
This is just an educated guess; I think Most people on this board, will be selling previous vehicles, trading, scrimping, wheeling, dealing, just to get their hands on one. I'm no different.

Yes, You can buy a whole lot of equipment for a grand, but it still won't sound like audiophile! Audiophile is top of the line! Period!
Let me take the time to laugh some more at your ignorance.
I'm am done with you. Your level of comprehension is too low.
You don't measure audiophile you moron. Like mcomb said it's all about high quality components that go together to make up the sound.
And as far as having lots of money, Even if I did, it would be none of your business.
Also, I have'nt ordered anything yet, and when I do, that also will be none of your business!
So the way I take it is: According to you, If anyone on this board has bought the 1000 system, they have more money than they know what to do with? Wow!
If that's the case, maybe the people should'nt get the IUP also !

Tell me how to measure Audiophile then. I'm sick of trying to be nice. YOUR AN IDIOT. Want to buy some busted speakers in my basement. If I write audiophile on them in a magic marker they will be worth 1000 bucks. Distortion on the other hand is somthing you can measure. One speaker can have less distortion than anouther. Why don't u do a search on yahoo shopping for "Audiophile". Go buy a 10 dollar pair of "Audiophile" headphones.
Actually distortion is measured as a ratio. (THD).
Here is a set of "Audiophile" headphones
http://shop.store.yahoo.com/cjm-head.../sehdauhe.html
In fact Sennheiser names all their headphones "Audiophile" But this 70$ pair couldn't touch thier $1000 pair. Yet they are both "Audiophile". Wait I get it its a marketing gimmick so ignorant people like you jump all over it.
Lynx4Ben Speaker Quality? Crazy? Your wrong! There is a difference! Please let me explain.
Went into an audio store a while back. No one was in the store at the time, except this salseman and myself. There were 2 audio systems side by side. One was a JVC, the other a Sony. Same wattage. Asked the salseman why the Sony was priced more than the JVC? He replied " It's a better machine". No way I replied! O yes! he replies! Then I say to him, that not only is the JVC a better machine, but I will prove it to him, if he would allow me. He replied, "Sure, I would like to see this". I walked over, cranked the Sony to 12 o'clock on the dial. Turned the JVC to 12 o'clock on the dial also. You could hear the Sony starting to distort. The JVC never flinched. Then I cranked the Sony up between 3 and 4 o'clock on the dial. Likewise with the JVC. No comparison. The Sony could'nt hold a candle.
Matter of fact, the Sony had so much distortion, had to shut it off. Salseman would'nt talk to me and kicked me out. Sony makes a very nice product. It was ALL in the speakers! not the unit. He's a salseman, not me! Some salseman?
If you have been into the Car audio business for a long time, you above all, should know this! And you say that there is no standard to what audiophile quality is. Your wrong. Audiophile quality is the highest standard that I know.
If there's something higher, I would like to know what it is?
You sound like the salseman
Maybe you should think about looking into another line of work!

okay lets see who can actually come up with the specs of each system.
what are the actual frequency responses?
what are the Ohms? 8? 6?
what is the dapening in the doors?
what are the design of the tweeters? cone? horn?
what is the SN ratio on the amp?
answer these questions and we will find the true quality of these systems...

Also, I think someone said the clarity on the 1000 was much better than the 500. there has to be a reason .

Ok I got bored thought I would check out if the flames settled. Ok since somone brought in a keg might as well add some fuel.
Anyway why would you care. Considering you made the quote below it's obvious you would have no idea what these numbers mean.
Look I have a problem with people giving out completely wrong info. The quote above illistrates a genuine missunderstanding with audio and marketing in general. "Audiophile" is used as a marketing gimmick to sell a $1300 upgrade.
Anyway I would recommend the shaker 1000 for anyone who wants a easy solution to get a decent amount of bass.
However, for those who have car audio experience you can build a superior system via the aftermarket. I will be spending more than $1300 to add subs and amps in the trunk.

That would be interesting. I would like to see how much higher the frequency range is on the 1000 compared to the 500!

Ben this was answered on this very page....read above, it's the truth, it's straight from Ford. The 500 has eight speakers, the 1000 has 10. Do a search and you will find this subject has been asked and answered multiple times.
Now on hard specs, nobody knows exactly what speakers or amps are in there until someone takes it apart.

Whats the point of that link? I looked at all those pictures, I don't see the extra speakers nor does anyone talk about the topic.
Take a look at my post.

I am wondering if the tweeters in the door are on the 500.

If you can't clearly see a 5 1/4 mid driver and a 1 inch tweeter in the door pic, I don't know what to tell you
I've seen both systems, and the speaker locations are the same for both of them.
Search is your friend
