Just curious if anyone here has ever used or heard anything about this. It seems really neat and a fun toy for my 05. Wonder how accurate it is???

G-Timer: Finally...a way to measure performance

A high-performance car. A high-performance driver.
Until now, to accurately measure performance you've needed equipment that costs thousands of dollars. Now there's an easy, accurate and affordable way to measure true performance...the Passport G-Timer GT1 and G-Timer GT2 Vehicle Performance Computers.

No Installation Required
The Passport G-Timers require no installation. Just attach your GT1 or GT2 to the windshield (suction cup mount included), plug into the lighter socket and go. It's that simple.

One Button Operation
Intuitive one button operation makes the G-Timers incredibly easy to use. Just press the "calibrate" button once to automatically calibrate and you're ready to perform.

Amazing Accuracy
The G-Timers measure acceleration times, braking, G-forces and horsepower with absolute precision.

Measures True Performance - Guaranteed!
You'll love the new G-Timers, we guarantee it! If you're not satisfied for any reason, return within 30 days for a refund (applies to factory direct orders only).

I haven't used that one but I have the new G-Tech (www.gtechpro.com) and it is excellent. Very accurate and very consistant. It also give you nice graphs of your runs so you can see your shift points, shift times etc. It also comes with a built in shift light although I couldn't seem to get that function to work properly on my current car. Perhaps it will work better with the Stang.

I was thinking about getting one. They give you 1/4 mile times also? What did that cost and where did you get it if I may ask?

How does that thing measure horsepower without in any way connecting to the engine or the rear wheels?

If you tell it the weight of the car, it can calculate HP from the acceleration it measures.

My dad had promised me a Ford car cover for my 40th birthday, but the car wasn't there yet (first week of October).

When I saw the prices on Ford's covers, I told him "forget it, I appreciate the gift, but don't spend over $250 for a car cover".

I have a new Passport G-Timer, I believe the GT2, coming instead.

I have the old G-tech and I've used it for about 2 years.

I've even had it running at the drag strip to check its accuracy.

Its usually within 1/10th sec and about 2-3 MPH higher on the trap speed, never used the g calc or the HP calc cos I don't know the weight of my car

one thing is for certain though, If you have a good stretch of road that you know quite well, you can use the performance meter to tell you if the changes you just made to your car, or driving style were good or bad instantly.

The new G-Tech will measure 60th, 0-60, 1/4 speed and mph, HP, Torque, G's and some other stuff I can't remember. It measures HP based on the weight of your car. It will actually give you a dyno graph. However it measures net HP which is much lower the WHP. So it is not great for comparing to others but it is useful in seeing how much a modication improved your HP.

I hope you can help me with this. I went to the web site and found almost nothing as to how its wired, how to use it etc. Is there another place I can go for information?
Thanks

Ya it just goes into the cig lighter and sticks to the windsheild. You can optionally get a permanent mounting kit as well.

I have experience with the first one and it was neat for the first month or so. Not very accurate, but was in ballpark range.
