Passenger Seat Rattle/Tick Is Back

My passenger seat continues to rattle. Almost more of a constant fast tick. It mostly occurs when the car is in motion. When I place a little pressure on the back of the seat, it stops. I had it serviced for the same issue last January. The dealership replaced the entire back seat brace. At the time, it stopped, but now it's back. My car is now out of warranty. Any suggestions on how I can fix it on my own? I figure the rattle is coming from where the back part of the seat meets the base of the seat. Does anyone know if Ford covers warranty repairs for a certain amount of time from the time of original service? Thanks

If it's the hinges, you can maybe put phenolic washers and bushings in them. Might have to hollow out the hinge hole on the seat back to make it work.

Only thing to really do is to take the seat out of the car, secure it so it can't be moving about, then start beating upon the seat with your hand, drumstick, etc until you find the exact location. Only then will you be able to see where the rattle is, how it's produced, and the appropriate measure to take.

/Investigating rattles sucks.

I found that a tick/rattle from my passenger seat was coming from the seat belt latch rubbing against the seat between the seat and the center console. Just moving it back to the upright position fixed it.

Rattler

I've had the problem on and off.....It seems like it's been awhile. I've tried two tricks: 1) Fastening the seat belt. (Not doing that now) and 2) I moved the passenger headrest up one or two clicks. When it was at it's lowest position I would get that "constant fast" rattle.

Hope one of these solutions works out.

That is another great solution as well. With all the plastic and leather in these cars, there is just a lot of rubbing between multiple materials.
