Thumbs up

I don't know if this has been discussed before, but the Parts Content stickers on the 05's, including the V6 I purchased, say the engine comes from Germany and the automatic transmission comes from France.

Does anyone have more information about the origins of these engines and transmissions?

Don't have anymore info for you but I would be surprised if alot more of the parts didn't come from other countries - just how things are.

France makes tons of transmissions for Japanese and American cars. The 4.0 is built in germany. The V8 is built at the romeo plant in MI.

One more reason to get the 5-spd. Hopefully it's made elsewhere, preferably here in the U.S.A.! :usa:

Heh, you guys are unbelievable.

The French got their stuff together and are making good cars, especially Peugeout and Renault. What makes you think a US made gearbox would be better?

I wouldn't have a problem with getting an engine from Germany, they definitely know what they are doing when it comes to engines.
