I just bought a 06 GT Sonic blue w/fanblades beautiful. I noticed so scratches on the bumper, dealor tried to buff out but could not. Now both front and back bumpers need to be painted. Little bit upset that a new $28,000 car has to have bumpers repainted. What are my options, thinking about telling the dealer to find me another car just like mine.

Any advise would be helpful.

I understand you would be upset but I think you are getting a little bit carried away in wanting a different car. Having the bumpers repainted is nothing. It is just base/clear anyway and who knows, it might end up better than the factory paint job. If you do a search you will find that a lot of us have even worse paint problems than your car. At least it isn't costing you anything to get them repainted

 

Take it as a gift. I'd love to have an extra layer of paint and clear on mine. The bodyshop job will probably be better than the factory sprayed job.

 

Vista Blue on the 06 - I can't imagine anyone who waited months for a car so willing to give it up. Like 05GT O.C.D. said - an extra layer of paint aint gonna hurt.

Just curious, did you order yours or luck into it on the lot. If ordered, how long did you have to wait?

 

I found it on the net first one in our area with fan blades
