There's really no way to tell... since I don't have a Torch Red and another color. I highly doubt it though.

Your rates will be based on age, driving record, etc.

I had a black 2002 Altima, and my insurance only went up a few dollars for the whole year for the Torch Red Mustang. I'm actually very surprised it didn't go up more than it did.

I asked my insurance agent, and he said it was a myth. But, he is an insurance agent, so who knows if he is telling the truth.

I know a nice safe silver mustang was gonna be $88 a month and I show up in big Bird and suddenly it jumped to $117.

For the record, I have no accidents or tickets.

I have never been asked 'what color' when getting insurance quotes.

My insurance agent knows I am a fanatic about Red vehicles. I am going from a white 03 F150 to a Torch Red 05 V6, and my insurance is going up a whole $6.75/month. Incidentally, it is the same increase from our 02 explorer sport to an 05 F150 S/Crew

I don't remember my insurance company asking for the color of my 05 Mustang when I added it to my policy (my car is Sonic Blue) and the insurance went down.

Nor have I ever been asked for a VIN when getting a quote. VIN info would be an entire different thread.
Bottom line, color does not affect insurance rates.

Mine asked(and inspected).......And wouldn't quote it without a vin. I hate my insurance company.
Its Nationwide, Which I had forever before they became the WE INSURE ANYONE insurance company.

They have to have a VIN for the loan if there is one. If not I don't think they require it.
