No test drive for me before ordering. I got to sit in one a week later(customer car) and got to drive one at the Innovation Drive about a month later. I didn't even test drive mine when it came in since it was 2 days after my back surgery. I picked it up the same day I got out of the hospital and had to go without my pain medicine to do it. Don't regret it at all.

If I wasn't deployed, I definitely would have asked for a test drive before ordering. I usually do lots of research before I buy "big-ticket" items, but in this case, I'm going on faith and the feedback I read on forums such as this.

Ordered mine the first day prices were released in September (none of the dealers would order it for me until prices were posted). Received my car exactly eight weeks later and drove it home. I worried about color and/or options I ordered, but I never worried that I would not like the car to drive. If the same type of opportunity ever arises again, I would do the same. Love the car!

Technically I did drive before I ordered, but it was by mere chance that I drove one.
I had made my mind up that I was going to get a pony no matter what.
I also told myself that I would not drive one before mine came in because if I did I would probably buy it on the spot and I wanted it in the spring.
Well, it turns out that a fellow TMS member and I were former high school hot rodding buddies. ORTHOGUY. Last October I had e-mailed him asking about his stripes. We eventually figured out who we were.
Anyway, he came over one Sunday to show me his car.
He gets out and hands me the keys.
Now I haven't seen him or spoken to him in 25 years.
He says go for it. I drove it about 5 miles and was very nice to it.
I almost went to look for a GT that following Monday, but I was able to restrain myself.
I ended up ordering in December and took delivery on 05/05/05

In this order: I test drove a Windveil Blue V6 automatic, a Black GT manual, a Sonic Blue GT automatic and finally, a Legend Lime GT manual. I liked the fact that I was able to drive both manuals and automatics before making a decision to purchase.
I pretty much knew that I wanted to get a Mustang; I just needed to decide on the options!

first one i saw on a lot was a V6, i test drove it for kicks, but wasn't very impressed over my 99 V6.
Then i drove a black GT manual
anddddd thennn
a Redfire GT auto (didn't like the auto)
so yeah, i would say i got a decent amount of test drive before i ordered. None of the cars were at the dealer i ended up buying from though.

I ordered mine without even seeing one in person. Only ever saw a picture of the car and that was it. Never sat in one until the day mine arrived, then I drove away in it without even test driving it first

I only got a chance to test drive a v6. I was pretty impressed and new I would not be disapointed with a GT. Don't think I'll have any regrets. Besides, a few of my friends got to test drive GT's in other areas and they recomended wearing a diaper when I drive it for the first time...and they're cobra drivers. They loved it.

Did not test drive one, only saw what it looks like from outside in my dealer's dark garage. Fell in love the minute I started the engine when it got delivered 6 months later You're not crazy and you will not be disappointed.

I ordered mine also without ever seeing one in person. My car was actually the first '05 I saw in person. It was quite a moment I must say. Almost brings a tear to my eye. I did test drive her many times in my sleep though before I got her.
