I brought in the 06 order guide and the dealer took out his order sheet that we have all seen before and wrote all the options,etc. He said I'm not going to fill in any prices right now because your x-plan so when I get the order back I will call you with everything. And i will give you all the numbers so you can call the robot lady. I did not sign the order form and I left 500.00 dep. He said he will not put in the order until monday because it would probably sit there until then. Just making sure everything sounds alright. And now what should I be getting from him after he orders it?

 

You should get a VOC-vehicle order confirmation that will have your prices and options on it. A couple days later you will get a DORA.

 

That sounds fishy. I ordered on xplan and I got my VOC immediately. I'd consider going to another dealer. That sounds really fishy. The VOC has the prices on it. You should get pricing immediately.

 

Similar topic here so Im just gonna throw it in here, I have a VOC seems more like a mock up to me though as the numbers seem fishy. Basically Order number is 1234, priority 80, order type 2 etc . Now I have asked the dealer for a DORA and was told that FORD has to accept the order first and they havnt yet. Im starting to think this dealer is going to be quite a hassle but it was the only one I could find locally, I mean within 60 or so kms that would accept my Xplan from work.

Oh BTW order date is June 23, 05.


I understand that at a smaller dealer things dont go quite as fast and they have already placed one order for an 06 but it was a carry forward from 05, no other orders have been placed.


So should I take my deposit back, and hunt a little further (its only $500)

Ordered a GT coupe, charcoal leather, IUP and have no idea if some of these fees should be paid by me as well

like Dest and Deliv and the excise tax

BTW I am in Ontario Canada so if anything differs up here from down ther that would be good to know but I assume most things are the same assidefrm prices

 

I don't know... dealers are idiots for the most part. Most don't know poo about cars in general let alone any of the darn cars they sell. And this isn't just Ford or domestic makers.

I had to send my dealer a copy of the order guide b/c he, nor anyone at his dealership, had received it yet.

But for xplan you should be able to see all the numbers. Unlike you, my dealer showed/gave me all the numbers and then said, this number might change but only if ford changes the price.
