There haven't been any sound clips posted at s197...yet.
This is what the poster said "Well I know for the catted X pipe and the Catback together it is 19rwhp and 17rwtq........
I believe the catback by itself was around 10rwhp.....
not quite the same gains as the 99-04s, but we attribute much of that to the fact that they are coming with 2.5" from the factory now-
(99-04s have consistenly shown 12-14rwhp gains with just a cat back)
We experimented with some other pipe sizes- 2 3/4, 3" as well, and we were not happy with the dyno results as they seemed to loose a lot of mid range power with the bigger pipe diameters.
Of course Cobras don't respond that well to pipe bigger then 2.5, unless extremely modified, so we didnt think this car would either......"

An offroad on a 4.6 is the meanest sounding ride on the road.
the reason why these don't respond as well is because from the factory they're getting 2.5" MANDREL bent pipes.... Ford loosened up the exaust quite a bit by eliminating the bottle necks and by adding an aftermarket system, it's taking out too much of the back pressure that the engine uses to build torque. I'm thinkin' all I'm gonna do is cut the mufflers out and put some Flowmasters in and weld the stock tailpipes back on. I don't see the sense in paying an hiney load of money to buy an exhaust system that already exists. If you're putting in an X-pipe or replacing cats, great, but a cat back would be a waste of money IMO. You can get flowmasters for $150 or less for a set of 2 or 3 chambers... those can be put in in less than a half hr.
I would like to see a dyno sheet as proof of how much horsepower is actually gained at the rear wheel. On the link here listed to the place to buy the magnaflows it states "improved horsepower". I know it's mainly a sound mod and I have always used magnaflows myself because I prefer their sound. I know that we will only need the axle back system now also, the factory has given us a great sytem already but if advertisers say it improves horsepower, than prove it? B)

There's already exhaust systems out already? :confuse
