Is that how long you were told?? Feb 1st. I ordered mine last week and they said that it was gonna be longer than 8 weeks but Feb?? That doesn't seem right!!

 

They told me january or february so i guess its going to be a long while...

 

I asked for Feb. Promised the wife 1 year after the truck was paid off before a new vehicle so Feb it is.

Given that this question is coming up... I haven't ordered my 05 black GT yet, but will within the next two weeks. I am wondering when I can expect delivery given an order placed within the next two weeks. January to February is kinda scary, and I'm doubtful of this, given originally the estimations were that dealers would begin to build up a stock by December. The over 8 weeks seems reasonable.

 

Steve, I'm seriously considering ordering early as well. I want the car for March.

Let me know what your dealer says about delivery time.

I'll do whatever it takes so that it is delivered before May. I don't want to order too early, but I don't want mine on backorder either. :bang:

 

Dan, I explained my situation to my salesman and he didn't seem to concerned. If nothing else, they can call you when the lead times are taking you to your delivery date. My order was placed today, so they aren't holding off on that. I just wonder if Ford "allows" for late request dates and then builds it when they can deliver it close to that date. Basically, it hurt me none to order now. Didn't even have to put down a deposit.

Thanks for the info....I might have to pay a casual visit to my local ford dealer (or two) to see what's up with delivery times.

Get this one! Haven't even ordered yet, but my salseman knows I'm going to buy an 05 Stang. The reason he does is because he sold the last 2 vehicles to me, and we've discussed the 05. He calls me about an hour, or so ago, and tells me to check the mail. There is a $500.00 voucher,[limited time of course] towards the purchase of a remaining 04 truck, or 05 stang. Wife checks the mail, and sure enough, there it is. Here we go! It's time!

You might want to wait until there are cars on both lots......need to test drive them.......

 

So,
I can go order one and request it be ready when I am? Hot Digggity, that means I don't have to drive a used up one(admit it, you tear it up on a test drive too). My target date is very late Feb. Or Early March.

 

I was on a test drive before and told the sales lady that I drive a little different when the sales person is riding with me. She laughed and said, "You can't scare me, drive like you want."

I accepted the invitation.

 

I am jealous of all you guys and gals that are ordering you new mustang now.
Since I want a vert and will wait untill I get to see them before I order. Just hoping that the the vert comes out as a '06, and it it dosen't I just might wait untill the '06 come out before I order.
