Just a fun Mustang story -- I was sitting in a restaurant at lunchtime with my husband and son-in-law. Son-in-law had an 8 point, 175# buck on the roof of his Explorer. Two hunters came up to the table where we were sitting and said, "Excuse us, but do you mind if we look at your Mustang? It's the first we've seen, and it's gorgeous!" My son-in-law was nearly devastated that they weren't talking about the buck!!! That was so much fun!

Hahaha, that's great. Maybe they hunt horses instead of deer?

Deer are everywhere here. I pray everytime I leave at night that they stay IN The Woods! Thats a cool story. I can relate because hunting is really big here.

(Tenderlion Rolled around a jalapeno, wrapped in bacon and grilled)!
Opening Day Saturday! Last year the boy was the only one who snatched up anything.

Donna,
Everytime I drive to my mothers I hope that one connects with the olds- thats COMPREHENSIVE damage, so the insurance co pays more!

Hey that would definantly work. I have seen some major damage done by deer. They are all over my neighborhood. Especially this time of the year I can look out my back door and see them. I'll shoo them towards Alabama for you.

Has anyone heard the 911 call a guy had after hitting a deer. It was on the radio alot when it first came out years a gao. The guy hit a deer and doesn't know what to do. Since it was a clean kill, he thought he would put the deer in his car. Well, apparently, the deer was not dead, but stunned. So it woke up and started to go crazy. So the guy gets out and calls 911 from a pay phone.

I don't think I have seen Tommy Boy. But who ever the caller was, it sounded nothing like Chris Farley. I think the call came out around the early 90's, back when I live in Virginia Beach. I remember listening to it in my old car.

That's a cool story, but forgive me for sounding naive. I have just never heard of any one driving around with a 175 pound dead animal on the top of their SUV. Is this common?

TK421 - We wouldnt see it here in SoCal... in fact, the animal rights folk would probably have coronaries... But, in SC... its extemely common during hunting season.

Donna nice hunt for your son in law, too bad it was overshadowed by the Stang!

I'm in Northern Michigan. VERY Redneck area. Most of the "menfolk" in the area take time off this week, particularly opening day (which was yesterday the 15th.) Then when they get their deer, they drive thru the town (population: app. 1600) to "show them off". Then they hang them on a "buck pole" where they will stay until the winner of the contest for the largest deer is determined. It's a macho thing. Local businesses sponsor contests, etc.. (I'm really a city girl transplanted -- this much I've learned since we moved our business up here 6 years ago) We let 2 deer be taken off of our property each year (93 acres)(can't say no to family) then it becomes a sanctuary. We don't let the locals hunt it. Believe me, they love the Mustang up here, although to really MAKE IT here, you need a pickup truck
