open letter to a red GT in SINY

saw you coming off the verrazano bridge around 4:45pm. just gotta say, car was lookin SIC! sweet exhaust sound, nice front bumper and 1/4 louvers. only one thing kinda struck me odd. with all the mods you had, i was wondering y in gods name did u have a liscense plate frame for a honda dealer? personally, id rather have some tin foil wrapped around my plate then to advertise for a honda dealership. just had to get that off my chest.

other than that, sweet ride

You always remove the dealers frames. If they want to advertise they need to kick down some cash.

I won't buy a car with any dealer pimpy crap on it. I tell them my standard rates for being a rolling billboard, and when they snicker, I make them remove it all.

When I ordered my car, that was one of the terms up front: NO dealer crap on my car! No stickers, no labels, no license plate frame, nothing. They didn't have any issues with that.

Ray,

What's your rate? I was thinking about $100 per month should do the trick.

I hate stickers, frames or any "free advertisement"

when i got my pony, it had the dealer frames, INSANELY bright yellow "plates" with the dealers logo on it, AND a decal on the rear with the dealer name. with a quick peel of the decal and an instant removal of all liscense plate free advertising and voila, i was no longer a runnign billboard. luckily my car arrived at the dealer that same day and 4 hours after it came off the truck itwas mine so the decal wasnt on there too long and it came right off like it was nothing.

i was thinking maybe the guy was a honda dealer but then y wouldnt he have a riced out civic si or something. or maybe he was just a tool bag. either way the frame was terrible

My dealership didn't do any of that crap but gave me a check for a grand back after they drilled holes for the front plate. My new bumper doesn't have holes in it.

First thing I did to my car when I picked it up was to remove the dealer sticker from the trunk lid. And he's a Ford dealer!

+1 on the "pay if you want to advertise" idea!

You had to wait 4 hours !! OMG !! My dealer called me when the truck arrived. I drove the 2 miles and watched them take it off the transport (pictures of course). Then I watched them take it in the service department where they knew not to do anything to it except check fluid levels and lug nut torque. While they did that I signed the paperwork inside. Less than an hour after it arrived I was driving it home. Now, back to your regularly scheduled topic. Oh, and no, there are no ads on my baby.

I made a point tell them i didn't want a decal on the car both the day I went into sign papers and the morning of pickup. my salesman even went to remind the prep guy not to do it again when i came in that day, which was cool....still got the plate dealy, but swapped that out w/ new ones at home.

It seems the dealers in the Midwest & East Coast allways do the decal thing. You don't see much of it out here in the West, i wonder why that is?

I don't think I said anything to my dealer, and the car came bare so they must have suspected it was a no-go with me and decals all on their own!

I totally Agree, BUT,

It's just the Plate Frame ,it is Black and there were no other Dealer Sticker on the Car.
This Dealership (Salesman) took an order in Feb 05 for $200 over INVENTORY when every other Dealers in the Area were asking $3000 over MSRP.

He also baby sat me through the 5 month delivery and I know that they didn't
bite on offers from Alberta Dealers of $4000 to just leave the Car on the Truck.

So maybe they do have some promotion coming.

Besides I haven't really seen a Plate Frame I like Better.

BTW; The Plate shown is no longer in use.

I got a plate from Auto Zone that looks like barbed-wire, in keeping with my "Wicked Stallion" theme.
