Looks like what one of my knowledgeable customer said is true. One of the preproduction mules has been totaled. NOT by the crusher, but from a van or truck wn3d:

Apparently, a worker let his "buddy" take the 05 out for a spin at around 8am or so, by 8:30am, the car was totalled. The moron wasn't paying attention and was showing off and BAM. The guy is ok, but the employee is fired. This happened I think in the beginning of August. They put a temp end to the program of the employees taking them out for a spin, because of this. No wonder I didn't see too many random ones back then, they were just at shows.

Also heard that 4 speeding tickets have been issued to people driving them. I can believe it. One of the AAI employee that my customer knows, he was telling me how solid the car felt going 150 mph on I-75. The one vert mule I followed for 50 miles, she was really smashing the gas pedal. We were hitting some good speeds too.

A positive impact, if any. Whenever someone walks away from a crash in which the car they were in was totaled, it's always a good sign.

Insurance companies already know how fast the thing is.

Not sure how bad the crash was.. and if they meant "TOTALED" or if they had to total it because of the damage. Wouldn't be a good thing for them to be driving a preproduction with the front end smashed. You know what I mean.

But in all cases, talking to 4 different people that told me about it, they used the word "totaled"

So I don't know how bad the damage was.

Nope.. it's a stupid way for him to get fired. He let his friend drive it.. that's a huge nono. Also, he probably messed himself up with any job at the big 3 because of it.

What's the max speed w/o governor? The ~150 limit is because of the tires, isn't it? Just curious. German Autobahns, you know :P

(too bad you'd have to get a new speedo if the governor was removed...)

Guess you will have to test that out for us.

Unless I can get stationed back over there. I would be happy to test it out then.

Ford rep told me it is governed at 140, and yes, it is because of the tires. Of course, I don't know if that means the mule was governed...

Even if it has "Truck Tires". Does it really matter? I mean how many people are going to see above 140mph. I have had my Cobra for 4.5 years. And so far have not been north of 135mph.
