Heh, update that if/when the 2013 GT500 driveshaft gets in there!

Well hopefully its a bolt in part for the older S-197s :: fingers crossed :: and not to crazy expensive.

You can always contact them at 1-800-367-3788 and ask them which ones are compatible with yours, mptant913.

Just make sure you have it installed by someone who knows what they're doing. My car is lowered, but the shop that installed mine didn't account for it. So they didn't relocate a bolt from the underbody and the first time I hit a decent bump: GRRRRRRIIIIIND. Now I've got a big ring around the DS and the shop I go to now points out that the walls of the piece are only 1/8" thick. I'm 1/16" in. Not good. I also get rubbing on the underside of the transmission tunnel (there is a hump) when I hit really big bumps or dips in the road. The shop should have hammered the transmission tunnel hump back a little bit. The shop I use now pointed all of this out to me and said they would have used the Steeda unit because it's tapered.

DSS or PST the only ones with a one piece shaft all the rest are two piece regardless of what they call them. That sliding joint is a problem waiting to happen and two universal joints require precise alignment. One CV joint solves the problems that appear frequently with two universal joints and splined slider.

+1 for Shaftmasters 3.5" with the adapter plate. It was a bear getting it on first time but now i know my car better than ever. YOU SHOULD KNOW this will result in more noise/vibration/harmonics because the stock shaft was designed to dampen out a lot of inherent flaws in the S197 body style. You get used to it, but just be prepared!

Performance reasons I mean basically what each product promotes ... weight reduction less rotating mass etc

How much did you lower your car? I have steeda sport springs.. prob me and my brother in law who is a mechanic will put this on.. do I need to adjust the pinion angle?
