I don't see any overtime for the Mustang. Here's the article:

The AAI plant is already running 2 10.5 hour shifts. That doesn't leave a lot of time in between to add to.

I thought I had read ona post here somewhere that the 10 hour shifts could produce 600 cars a day per shift. That would equate to 6,000 cars in a 5 day week. Anyone else have any other info?

The plant needs some downtime on a daily basis for maintenance, I am sure Ford is building as many as they can.

Is it true they've cut back on Mazda 6 production to build more Mustangs?

Yes they have cut back on the Mazdas StangNut, and NuPony05 you are right about the number of cars a day give or take a few.

Also, you won't see AAI list in that report as it is its own entity. It actually sells its cars back to Ford!! They are working 2 10-hr shifts per production day and about 2 weekends a month, sometimes 3. The weekends are only 8-hr shifts though.

kcrw898,

What's you third choice then? A 2005 Lightning. I'm pretty sure you can run down to ford and pick one of those up. I don't think they're back ordered.

That's interesting given that Mazda6 sales are up something like 30%. I guess maybe they have enough in inventory in order to scale production back to make more Mustangs.

I know the Mazda & Ford lots carrying the 6 have plenty sitting around out here in the Northwest. I was looking at the 6 too before committing to buying a Mustang.

I really like my 6. If I could afford to keep the 6 and get a Mustang, I'd do it in a heartbeat. But since I can't, I guess I'll just have to go with the Mustang!
