...Is the fact that it's using an old fashioned LED display to *attempt* to display group/song names. The result is WAY less than spectacular on burned MP3 discs. Matter of fact, my $300 Sony head unit that I have in my old beater does WORLDS better at displaying names or the MP3 ID1 tag.

Not exactly a good footnote to an otherwise stellar sounding system. That is the only beef I have had with the Shaker so far. Mine hasn't spit out any discs, and I've only gotten the rewind thingy once so far. Oddly enough it happened on a store bought disc. But that just could be the nature of the beast as even my Sony head unit plays MP3 discs way faster than it does standard CDA format discs.

I'm assuming it's truncating names on you?

Something like that. Instead of what I would see on my Sony setup, which would be as an example. 01 Rush - Red Barchetta.

On the Shaker it comes across like RUSH117

You'll recognize a small portion of it, and it just puts numbers at the end. Using the old style LED setup, it's also very limited on what it can display. Something I would have been ok with seeing in the 80's, maybe early 90's. But rather embarrasing for such an expensive setup IMHO.

So far, the ony display problem i've seen is that the song names are so long it wraps and you need to use the text button to see it all....

And YES - great taste in music!!

Guess it was the perfect time for Rush to release the REMASTERED versions of practically every one of their albums - need to try out the Power Windows remastered CD in the shaker....

[Being a huge Rush fan like me, my brother named his drag car 'team', Red Barchetta Racing........ My link on the www button on my posts leads to his site...]

Why not put your Sony headunit in instead?

Cause I still drive the old beater.

I may hafta look into a replacement head unit of some type. THe 6 CD part is extremely cool though when added together with MP3 ability. Even recording or using 320k or 256k quality MP3s, that is like 4-5 normal CDs worth of music per CD. So like 24-30 normal CDs worth all inside of the shaker at once.

I may just say screw it and live with it as well, as it's minor in the big scheme of things.

Oh yeah, Rush r teh roxor too

I can get the full song info to display on mine ... if its too long it scrolls. Was like this when I picked it up.

Are you sure the id3 tag is correct on the songs?

Yes, unless the Shaker uses the ID2 tag instead of ID1. My Sony head unit specifies using ID1, the instructions for the shaker doesn't even specify which type.
