Ok guys i jsut went out and looked at it with my dad ....

the dent is right in front of the wheel well, its not that huge. There are minor scarpes from the dent bback.

I think theyll be able to pop the dent and jsut repaint that small section ... i wonder how much that would be ...

also, I think i'll need a whole new side mirror even though its not "damaged" a plastice piece inside broke but the mirror, plastic aorund it and motor seem intact. But theres no way thaey can piece it back together i thin k ... so what, wthats $300 right there aint it?

I'm being optimistic here ... $1000 for everything ... which would push me back 2 months of payments .... but i guess i gotta do what i gotta do
Dan, Post a picture so we can see :bang: :bang: :bang:

I think you can get "OUCH" decals on e-bay to give it a custom look.

Now what you want to hear but when you get he damage paid for might I suggest you widen the driveway or something so you guys dont do it again??!
And no offense but I must agree with the guy who said stupidness is letting a 17 yr old have a mustang GT. Not that you arent mature for your age but it is alot of car and things go bad when you are young. it is a fact of life and why we do stupid things...we need to learn from it..not the car to learn in.

Guys, really, i dont need to get flamed anymore than you already have done.

The problem is bad enough, I dont need your lectures on how much more mature and responsible you are.

I saved up for 7 years for that car, i know im taking a risk driving it, and i made a dumb move. Now im going to pay for it. If what i just said wasnt responsible enough for you, then you can $%&# off for all i care.

Thank you.

The scratches aren't bad. You can get them buffed, if it's not dented. You can get the repair paint, lay it on, and buff it back shiny. Hardly noticeable. Just take some time.

The mirror is totaled, but you can get another one and put it on. Should be 3 nuts and a wiring connector. Just remove it for now, and maybe tape up whatever hole there is. It'll be ugly, but you will survive.

/sure wish *I* could have a brand freakin' new car when I was 17... And a GT Mustang no less!

We arent flaming ya we are stating a fact. We were all there once and heck we make dumb mistakes everyday, its part of life, as I said before. From what I see on these pics, and it is hard to tell with the res, it dont look bad except the mirror like he said. It sounded earlier as if you had a huge dent that would have to be filled in the side. Fix it yourself and it'll be cheaper and all will be good.

Honestly people, you don't know this kid from the pennies in your pocket. He said he has saved for 7 years to get this car, well good for him. I have been wanting a Mustang since I was 13 and still haven't gotten it. Starting businesses and other things cost money. Do I think a 17 year old should drive a car of this magnitude? Probably not, but for all you smokin' oldies who drove your 454 Chevelles like my Dad did ... give the kid a break. You were there once.

He came to this forum for help and assistance, not for some people to start flaming him. He's found the errors of his ways, he's admitted that. At least give him that. I know a lot of 17 year old sh*ts that won't even cop to that.

Kid, good on ya for saving so long. I hope everything works out. Hopefully one day soon I'll be driving my '06

Its not THAT bad...

the mirror will set you back a bit, maybe $250 or so.

The wheel lip isn't bad at all, they don't have to replace the 1/4. A good bodyman can pull it out, bondo it and repaint it.

My guess is altogether it will set you back about $800 or so.

If you can live with the embarassment, replace the mirror and drive around with the dent for a few months until you put away a few $$$.

Don't worry man, it has happened to all of us, just usually with a junk beater.

I WILL make fun of you if you do it again.

Dan, don't be hard on yourself. You sound like a good kid. Good job having a Mustang so young. I bought my first brand new one when I was 20. Best of luck with the repair!

I don't think the mirror is supposed to be pointing at your dash.

I have the money now ... I'm gonan get it fixed.

I'm just syaing, right now my money life lives a month at a time. I have enough money for car payments over a year, a little more. But now I'm gonna get set back a couple months.

Thats not easy to make back when youre my age ... but I'm just gonna try to work as much as possible this summer.

I'm not gonna flip out until i go with my dad tomorrow morning to get an estimate.

We're gonna take it to Preston Ford, theyve always been fair with us.

If it seems unreasonable, my friend's dad at school owns a body shop, and he helped us out big time with another accident a few years ago ... but I dont wanna look like a mooch off him.

Ford dealer may be pricey, simply because of their higher hourly rate. Be sure to check out that other bodyshop.

Body looks fine - nothing too tragic. I can imagine how you feel, though - you shoulda seen me when this happened -
