I hope nobody gets stinkered into paying more than sticker for a Mustang.

If some dealer wants more, you gotta be the consumer ****. NO SALE FOR YOU!

This whole waiting process drives me nuts. FORD Canada has brochures out that state "available Fall 2004". Unless Ford has their own Seasons I can't see this happening. Currently it doesn't appear that a date has been scheduled for the build of the Canadian cars. If once they are built we still wait 6-8 weeks after that would mean late December the car would arrive. If that is the case I might cancel my order.

I definately do not want to receive a Mustang in the middle of the winter. I would just wait until April to purchase one.
You do realize that Fall lasts through December 20, don't you? They did not say at at what point of the season. I am sure they will be out in October though.

Speaking of high demand. I agree that there will be. I'm not sure that 99% of Joe 6 pack even know that it's coming out. I had my dealer run another pricing inquiry today. Nothing yet. He said that there has been no real interest yet. But you wait. As soon as they start showing up on the streets and Ford gets the advertising geared up, people will be flocking to their local Ford dealers. Waiting for the '05 Mustang is like waiting to be old enough to drive. If it came yesterday, it wouldn't be soon enough.

99% of the population doesn't even know about the '05 Mustang.
How long do you think it will be before many more people know about the '05 Mustang? As soon as the magazines throw the reviews in our faces, which should be the next 2-3 months.

I would expect that by January reviews will have hit, reviews will be good, and interest will peak right along spring time.

I ordered a bright yellow Escape with all available options when they first came out -- I waited 5 months to get it (but I think it was due to some problems they had along the way with a new release.) I followed a website much like this one, (except the photos were non-existent!) Like now, I wasn't able to get a brochure or anything. I found out more about the vehicle online than I did from my dealer. By getting on the website, I learned all the right questions to ask. I am very grateful for this site for that reason!

Oh, by the way, I ordered a Windveil Blue GT automatic with all options on July 13th. As I am in Northern Michigan, my dealer says I am the first order (he thinks they won't sell many up here). Even though they are a large dealership (Traverse City) I STILL don't have a VIN assigned. I call him each week to check and he tells me, "it's on order, we do have Dora, no VIN" and he says maybe we'll see it early October. He explained to me that a customer order definitely will be built before a stock order (or something like that.)

Are we there yet? When will we be there?

If I don't get the car until winter, I'm still drivin' it!

I'll be waiting until spring.

I've been "beater car" shopping for a few weeks to find my new "winter" car. Once I do, the '02 SVT Focus (nice car I might add) will be up for sale. The 'Stang will be my Tax Day to Turkey Day car and the cold weather beater will take up the slack.

As for price...I'll do the X-Plan. The dealer I go to has already told me this is a guarantee they'll honor it. If not, I'll wait until they do. Demand will outpace supply at the beginning (remember the PT Cruiser when it first came out?), but it will level out.

My main issue is when do I start selling my current car rather than wait and trade it in. Knowing my luck I put it up for sale next week and it goes in a few days then I am walking around till the stang shows up.....
Same here, but I did start advertising this week. The wait is killing me. If I do sell my car soon, hopefully the time will go very fast.

See, that is the problem with living in Canada. Even though fall officially runs until Dec 20th, Winter here can start in November.......Guess I will just be driving a little slower when I get my car for the first 4 or 5 months
