A few basic mods and a tune really helps out. Grats on the new car.

That's a totally personal question that only you can answer. If you are wondering about value or cost then perhaps we can chime in a bit. So much depends on condition and your plans. You didn't say if the car is excellent or rough.
If the car is in really nice shape and has years and years to go on it, and you plan on keeping the Mustang for many years, do whatever you like, from light mods to heavy. The added costs will be minor in the long haul of ownership and the car will be just the way you want it. On the other hand, if the car has had a rough, abused life already, I would not throw in a lot of money. If you tired of the car in a year or so, and needed to sell it, that mod money you spent would just be totally gone. I realize you can't predict your future feelings, but this might be a good guideline since you haven't told us about the car itself. Enjoy the ride!!

I would at least do a cai and a 93 octane tune.

Congrats I did the same thing last year v6->v8
I never modded my v6 as I always planned on selling it to get an 8.
I bought an 06 gt too and wife says I'm keeping in for a while so I'm modding it.
Just don't make the mistake some people do and think mods increase the value of the car. You never get your mod money back when you sell it.
So I guess it all depends on how long your keeping it.

I guess I find myself in fine company. I recently bought a 2006 GT Vert and since I've wanted this car for a long time and in the exact way I wanted it (Black w/ Tan top and int). The GT was in great shape just a bit high on the mileage, 84,800. So far I did a CAI with a Diablo inTune, Drake strut brace, FRPP suspension and front LCA, J&M LCA & Panhard rod, Whiteline panhard brace, and 1 Click brake kit.

I believe I'll keep it till the wheels fall off because I have no interest in the newer body, I like the 05 to the 09. I don't really care how fast it goes, it's fast enough for me. As far as me selling it, I'm ahead of the game since I picked it up for 13K.

Only thing left for me to do now is swap the hood for a CF or FG. I'd prefer the CF because the FG is heavy.
