New tune after 4.10 Gears?

Hey all,

I have a 2008 Mustang Gt Auto and It has an intake and tune. I just installed 4.10 gears from 3.31's. For any who have done this, did you request a whole new tune or did you just set your tuner to 4.10 to fix the speedometer. Will the tuner change the shift points differently if he sees i have 4.10's in now? or does most of that stay the same.

Thanks.

I remember seeing a thread like this quite a while back. I think one of the BAMA reps said to request a new tune. I'm not sure who you got your tune from, but you might try asking one of them if they don't see this thread. Or just ask whoever made your tune.

I set the axle ratio manually in the options in my tuner when I changed the gears, and then just told the bama folks what ratio I had when ordering future tunes so I didn't have to manually set it anymore.

You should get a new tune for the 4.10's. Done correctly, the tune should change some settings for the auto as well as changing the axle ratio. With a manual you can just change the axle ratio.
