So I was just watching TV and saw this mustang commercial from ford, not a local dealer. It was selling the V6 mustang with claims like more power then the original mustang V8 and low pricing. In the end it mentioned that 2000 extra mustangs were being sent by ford including V6, GT, and Conv. modles.
The commercial was basically trying to sell people on buying the V6, are they having sales problems with those? I though all the modles were selling like hot cakes.
I hope this is not old news... if it is sorry for the re-post

Good to know about new commercials!
As far as them pushing the V6s, I don't think its specifically because of selling 'problems' but because they have more OF them. Plus, they are a solid part of Ford's line - can't see them advertising them in a commercial, listing the cool things about them but then add in 'But you know what? Maybe you want to buy a GT instead....'

Ford is starting to push the V6. I saw a more generic V6 commercial, but all they were really pushing was the fact that they were under $20K.
There's a bigger profit margin on the V6. It's the bread and butter model. They assumed it would be selling better than it is.

V6s are plentiful around here, GTs aren't. But that's kinda to be expected, methinks, when the GT is supposed to be, what, 30%? 40% of total sales.
I find it even more interesting that the Dodge Charger is expected to sell with v6s and v8s. The V8 Charger is expected to be 60% of sales.
And I know it's not apples to apples, but still. I am not real sure what's going on there...
