New Mustang Seatbelts

I bought a 07 gt about 3 payments ago and I love the car. One of the only things I have to ***** about is the seatbelts. They have got to be the most uncomfortable seatbelts in any car I've ever been in. Anyone else agree ?

only that they lock up so fast always and you have to back& forth to get the suckers freed up They work great though, thus far

I 100% agree. They are so tight I feel like I'm going to CHOKE (they rest right across my NECK) and it always looks like I have a cottin' picken' hickey. I use a hair clip to keep them from being so tight, but I always think my gosh if they retract in a crash (the clip is loose enough to allow this) I will die from the seatbelt strangling me

Mine are comfortable to me. I'm 6'3" and I have the seat all the way back and slightly tilted. Don't know if it makes a difference but I imagine seat position would have something to do with the comfort as the belts are not adjustable. I'm sure they are more comfortable in some spots than in others.

I've had the belts lock up on me on hard accel, such as at the dragstrip.

For street driving, I usually put the belt under the collar of my jacket if I'm wearing one. That helps quite a bit with keeping it away from my neck. I'm only 5'8 so the belt does try to ride up on my neck.

They ride right across my neck and there way to tight. What happened to the old style gm seatbelts (remember the one's that when you pulled out on them just a little they would lock and give you some breathing room) I for one thought that was a great idea. Mabey the aftermarket will try to remedy the problem.

I'm 5'6....ride with the seat all the way on the floor....sit straight up and scooted up close to the wheel.....seatbelt fits fine.

I've had several cars over the years that had those locking belts, they were great but I think safety issues are why they quit making them.

I think you're right on target here. Height and seat position have a lot to do with how the seatbelt fits each individual....actually, I think height has the most to do with it. I'm 6' 2" and drive with the seat most of the way back and then tiltled so that I'm in an upright position.....the belt lays away from my neck and squarely across the shoulder, where it should.

Height does make a big difference in how the belts fit, in almost anything.

There's a special way of grabbing the seat belts that you learn right away. I don't have any complaints about the comfort of the belts, but the lumbar support is RIGHT at my belt line so it jabs my belt into my lower back. IMHO the lumbar support needs to be a bit higher.

now, maybe its just because after running in the park and seeing what some of the women there wear to run in puts my mind in a ... um ... different focus, but that statement seems ... well ... never mind ...

as to the seatbelt ... i seem to have just the opposit opinion of some on here. I guess I just got used to the car before this one, with the seatbelt buckle being one that actually stays where its slid to so i could set it tight and it would stay there. The mustang has the type that doesnt stay, it moves so freely that i just cant get the seatbelt to stay as tight as i want it. I find my self accellerating hard just to get it to lock up (well, thats my excuse for accellerating hard anyway) unfortunately it always releases after a while and i have to accellerate again.

I dont really have any complaints about my seat belt.

Im 5'8" have the seat all the way to the floor, tilted back a bit, I get a little rub on my neck, but I could fix that if I wanted to buy raising the seat, and it doesnt rub all that much I barely notice.

I have the magnetic straps on my seat belt so reaching them isnt an issue either.
