New Mustang Satus
#1
Granted this is not a new topic, but one that has dropped off the first page and I thought it might need to come back since for is allocating new Mustang again. As stated on this forum many moons ago Ford has began to allocate the Mustangs to be produced for the month of October beginning on Sept 9 thru Oct 1. From what I understand from Kevin and Bek that is what the current allocation is. So I wanted to know if anybody has heard any new news from there orders? Granted Sept 13 isn't very far into the new allocation period, but those of us/you that have not heard anything from your dealers should one why or another. I was very happy and luck that I received a phone call from my dealer this morning at 8:30 AM EST which woke me up and I just answered my cell phone and I was told my Mustang was scheduled to be produced. My dealer did not have a production date yet, but said he would by the weeks end and would let me know. He has my full VIN number which I am going to go by later and pick-up. Anyway I am happy and could not go back to sleep after hearing that for sure, but I think its good news that we who had not hear any information for so long are and should be hearing anytime now. Anybody else has any good news.

I placed my order nearly a month ago on 8/17 and I still have nothing but, and I quote my dealer from Saturday, "a partial serial number." Is that even possible!? lol

I ordered on 6/29/04
Several Months ago I received my VIN and Build date.
My build date was 9/13/04 which I was told meant the car would be built the week of the 13th.
Last week my build date was updated to 9/17/04 which I take to mean they are a few days behind where they thought they would be and have rescheduled my build, to comply with their current production.
Also my scheduled delivery date which was empty now says "TBD" my father who works at the dealership wasn't too sure what this meant. I suggested it meant "To be determined"

I ordered my Sonic Blue Mustang the week of July 4 from a dealer in Southeastern Wisconsin. As of today, the car has still not been scheduled and therefore I do not have a build date or VIN number..
He ordered a V-6 for another customer on May 13 and that car has a build date also for this week....
I want my car.......

I ordered mine at the end of May and it has been produced...waiting to ship. The dealership is saying TBD could mean anything...he wouldn't be surprised if it was around on or about the 27th, but he also wouldn't be surprised if they held onto them for a little longer (since it's a new car).
Bottom line though...most of us have been waiting for a good 9 months (some longer) so a few more weeks honestly doesn't seem so bad. Actually, a few more weeks to save a few more dollars for the down payment is kind of nice!
