New Mustang order, how long does it take?
Curious if anyone has ordered a Mustang from Ford lately, and how long it took to go from order to dealership delivery. Just finalized my order with a dealership in NH and threw down a deposit. 6-8 weeks? God I cannot wait. Vista Blue GT convertable with Roush SC and exhaust. Yummy. Gonna be a long impatient wait!!

I got mine at 8 weeks, 1 day.

It takes however long it takes. They always say 6 to 8 weeks, but it varies widely. They originally lost my car and I ended up finding one almost exactly like I ordered with 6 miles on it so I bought it and told them to stick my ordered one where ever they wanted it.

Well 4 months because I ordered as soon as order banks opened for the 2008 Mustangs. I think Job#1 wasn't done until sometime June, so build to delivery was more like 6-8 weeks.

I ordered on 1/12/08 and it is scheduled to be built on 2/25/08. Being delivered by convoy to Massachusetts (mapquest says 700 miles), so hopefully I will see it in about a week or so after that! That would put it at 7-8 weeks which would be typical.

Ya, I would love a Roush 427R convertable, but it is just too pricey. I am fixated on convertables, odd considering I live in New England. But, I am not going to be racing or doing anything crazy, so ya it will not handle nearly as well, but it will be a good looking, classy car with a nice little present under the hood.

I ordered mine then had nothing to show for it (3 months later) except everyone at the small dealer I ordered it from knowing I had ordered it (it was the only GT they were getting for some time). I got tired of waiting, found another without the Shaker 1000, mineral gray instead of charcoal interior and the 17"s. Got the dealer to shave $750 off because the car only had the 500 and they gave me the 18" polished rims with rubber to replace the stock 17"s with rubber which I was able to keep (and sold for $500) along with a $400 discount on the monochromatic mirror (temp compass, etc). Not to mention I paid about $1750 less than sticker. Told myself I'm always ordering a car and finding a similar one to use as a bargaining tool at another dealer. Got about $3000 worth of goodies that way and paid less for the car!

Depends on the dealers allotment per year, month, etc..., your options, v6 or v8. He should be able to tell you exactly when he can place the order. Most dealers get so many V-6s and so many V-8s per year. My dealer told me exactly how many he was getting and where in line I was. In my case 2 people already had ordered their GTs so I had to wait for the 3rd one. Good Luck it will be tough waiting but its worth it to get exactly what you want

I just ordered a 2008 GT/CS with all the goodies on Feb 14th so hopefully it will be here in time for the Good Weather. Sold my Mach today, my knees are shot so no more Stick for me the Drs. said. Even need a Knee replacement eventually.
