Well, after lurking for a couple of weeks I decided to post my first thread and introduce myself and share my anxiety with all my bretheren. I placed an order for a 05 GT Premium,Mineral grey, 5spd, ISAP, dark charcoal leather, and bullits. The dealer placed the order on 2/16 and I have my DORA. As of today, still c/u. Now I ordered it from Freedom Ford in Clearwater, FL which is a fairly large dealership so I hope their allocation is decent. I manged to get the order on X-plan so lets hope that doesn't slow it down any further.

ANYHOO....when I called the evil robot lady today (3/7/05) she states that "as of 3/3 the order is still c/u". Why is it 4 days behind. I thought it updated on Fridays or at least by Monday morning. What gives?

Great site ya got here and I definately plan on hanging around for quite sometime...seeing as how no other mustang site out there has as much 2005 Stang traffic in their forums as in here!

I WANT MY BUILD DATE!!!!!! ARRRRGGGHH!

It updates when there is an update to update with.

Hmm, can I fit the word update in there any more?

I ordered 12/16 - 2004 and all I have been hearing is C & U. Went to the KC Auto Show this weekend and went to the Ford display, sniffing around for some reliable news. Didn't find a lot. Olathe Ford salesman told me they ordered 15 GTs and will only get 3 to 5 of them. The VP of Marketing who called me twice last week assured me my car would get built end of April - so i might get it in May or early June. A 6-month wait! This sux, but I am willing to wait, as long as i know I'll get my GT at the end of the rainbow. This stuff about dealers stuffing bogus retail orders into the system really p•sses me off!

I ordered on 2/16, not 3/7. Just wanted to clarify...my post may have been a bit misleading.

Greg - I feel your pain, but you are aware that there are many of us who have been waiting since Nov - Dec 2004 for our cars.

My take - if you want a 2005 Mustang GT and you want specific options/colors, you either need the patience of Job or be willing to track one down at a far off dealer AND pay the price....

Good Luck,
Brad

I hear ya Brad! The day it gets to my dealer, I am buying a big bottle of champagne for my dealer, my wife and myself. My dealer is as frustrated by this as I am!

Well looks like it's not just me who is getting the non-updated info from the evil robot lady. I tried to bribe her with money and and even a date with an evil robot man I know of that works customer service for my cell phone company....but alas, all I get is the same ol info. She is a tough nut to crack.

...or is it MY nuts she is cracking?

SaleenPower,

Welcome. Until you get beyond C/U, you will only get updated once a week. On Thursday night, Ford pulls the next batch to be serialized. Thats why things heat up here on Thursdays, everyone hoping they get pulled. Once you get that far, updates will be posted as they happen and things will start to move quicker for you.

"5spd" You must mean 5 speed auto, right?

Let's see, ordered a V6 on Nov 15th, finally got the Vin on Feb 15th, was told it would be here between Mar 14-26th, was told today there is no date. :bang:
So you do the math and watch me pull my hair out. Oh wait a minute I don't have any to pull out!

No no no....that would be a 5 speed manual that I ordered. I owned an automatic Mustang GT once...and will not do it again. I just prefer the option of ripping through gears. Of my four Mustangs that I have owned....just one of them was an auto.
