Congrats to him! Seems Ford is filling the position with a "real" fan of Mustangs.

Hau Thai Tang has moved up quite a bit in Ford, which shows how good he is.

I can tell you from meeting him in person he is a brilliant man and he will do great things for SVT. He is also very nice to talk to and will definitely keep in tune to the enthusiasts.

I wish him the best, I think every one of us would love to work in an environment like that.

glad to see this. it helps to quiet the rumors of SVT ending.

Mr. Tang, if you are reading this, thank you for what you have done for the Mustang and are about to do to the Cobra. I have been waiting nearly 2 years for it already. I am sure you will make it special and I (we on this board) appreciate it.

All I ask is that if the car has SMG, please make a traditional clutch/tranny optional. Thank you.

Why do you think that? He is over SVT and advanced product creation. I assume that means SEs.

it won't have a SMG
they know what we want-to really drive a car, not tap buttons to shift

yeah, I didn't read that as sarcasm. I am glad to see this move. Now with HTT and Coletti running SVT, we have 2 Mustang/Muscle car guys running the show. the Mustang is bound to continue to get more and more interesting.

crazyhorse: I think, better yet, I know, SVT was very instrumental in restricting the design and performance of the '01 Bullitt. The Mach 1 lucked out because the '03 Cobra got the s/c. Had Ford gone with the plans of the original concept and provided the top performance available at the time, it would have over shadowed the Cobra, therefore upsetting SVT and its fans which were up in arms at the prospect of another hp Mustang being at the same level... those Cobra owner scumbags!!!

What does this mean to the possible future of the Shelby model, if anything? The Shelby, if Ford builds it, should be below the performance of the Cobra? Or if Shelby builds them it really does not matter.

I didn't really know that, but, with the same guy running both, he will have interest in both vehicles and make them succeed. It won't be top dog, but, will still be a nice car. As you well know, the Bullitt is a fine car as is the Mach 1.
