For those who have the gas tank problems, and had the tank replaced, is the problem solved?

I had mine done last week and filled up Sunday. I'm glad to report NO problems filling! It took more gas than it ever had, didn't stop once until it was full, and I walked away without wearing a gallon of eau de Chevron. I'm so happy, I'll steal from an old In Living Color sketch and give the new gas tank "2 snaps up in a Z formation".

I know, I'm kinda still holding my breath. The place I filled up was the same station that I had the most problems with, so I'm taking that as a good sign.

It started for me after about 1 month of filling up normally. Once it started though there was no going back. I had the tank replaced this week and went to the station and pump that I couldn't use before without holding the handle upside down. It WORKED! Thank you Ford for coming up with a solution and thank this forum for letting me know there was a TSB available.

I had the problem almost every fill up. It was very frustrating. Once a few people were standing around asking me questions about the car while I was filling up, some gas splashed out and as usual it was taking forever to fill. It was pretty embarassing. One guy said, "Wow, you better get that fixed. Ford has had problems with gas tanks in the past. We used to call Pinto's Chariots of Fire" Very amuzing...not.
