Hey everyone. Happy New Year! OK went to start my car yesterday started up just fine but as I went about my busniess I came to a red light and while the car was stopped I heard a loud noise coming from the engine area, sounded like a belt was slipping or something was grinding, then there is the fan. When I start the car up in the morning the fan kicks on either with the defrost or sometimes on it's own, when it starts to turn off and slow down you can hear this loud ticking noise,I checked the area around the fan and nothing is hitting it. Though it seems that one of the fan blades is larger then the rest and when it makes it's pass you can hear it touching the surrounding case.

OK anyone else have this? I would really appreciate the help!

Sounds like a trip back to the dealership.

If you can spin the fan blade without the car running and it hits the surround, then you have found the problem. I've never heard of this before.

are you talking about the fan on the motor or the blower under the dash cause it sounds like you could be talking about either one.
