That New Car Smell!
I was wondering (not that it's hugely important), but is the new car smell present in the new Mustang? I test drove a couple, and didn't think about it and since I didn't notice it, I wonder if it's there. I had a 1980 mustang years ago, bought it used and it had a strong new car smell still. So strong that even at drive thru windows people would say "wow, new car smell." I'd be like "yeah, and it's a used car!" It's just a nice bonus to a new car. I heard once it can even be added to the car when it's being prepped, which would explain why I didn't notice it in the car I test drove, it wasn't prepped. Anyway, just looking to see what people notice on the topic, thanks, not a huge issue, i know that.
had it for 3 months and I still keep that new car smell in it, anytime I have food in the car, I always park it and keep the windows open to air out the smell and it works, even if I go to the bar and I smell all smokey (i dont smoke), i do the same thing and air the smelly air out of the car to keep that new car smell. I don't care if its 20 degree weather, I'll freeze my butt off if I have to keep the smelly air out. I wish the sun was burnin down on it, sometimes the sun will cook the inside a lil bit and bring a fresh new scent of new car!

After I let a couple O' good gaseous emissions fly....My new car smell went with it

Maybe that's the real reason the leather seats come perforated.
Got mine the week before Thanksgiving, and still has that "New Smell" still ever-so-present, even after natural emissions, a few trips to 'In and Out', a few 'why-do-my-clothes-still-smell-like-smoke' trips to the bar and such and such.
Mine still smells very nice with leather and conditioner on them. I dont smoke or eat in the car either. A guy on here said that the his Ford dealer has "King Ranch" leather conditioner that smells like real leather. If you have ever been in a KingRanch F-150 you know what I mean.

No, it comes from the factory with an old car smell. :-)

That's the best one I've seen in years
8400 miles...plenty of new car smell left. At least every two weeks I vaccum, wipe down inside of the windows with stoner window cleaner and zymol leather conditioner on the seats. Still don't eat in it, yet.
They actually say to leave the windows down in new cars to air them out. A study found gases from vinyl and plastic materials in new cars cause headaches, nausea and drowsiness. The chemicals involved include benzene - a known cancer-causing agent which was found in one case at five times the recommended exposure limit. Not to rain on every ones "New Car Smell Parade".
