New car, new kid

What can I say? It's just a picture of my two-month-old kiddo (my first) and my 11-month old Mustang. He loves riding in the car -- the exhaust rumble knocks him right out. Just thought I'd share.

P.S. I don't know about anyone else out there with kids, but when I have to transport my kid, the car seat takes up so much room in the back that it's just about impossible to put anyone else in the car. The front seat has to be leaned up and moved almost all the way to the glovebox. So far, whenever I'm riding with little Tate, it's just me and him. The wife takes her own car.

Enjoy the addition to the family! And many sleepless nights, lol. Unless you got a good one!

My wife had to sell her Prelude when we had our son, I had a thunderbird at the time so had plenty of room. Cant imagine having a baby now with the Mustang. Hes 8 now and fits just fine, the only one allowed in my backseat!

Yea, car seats and these cars just don't work. I have 3 kids now and have managed to still keep the stang. Got the wife an 04 F150 Supercrew for getting groceries and packing up the family.

Congrats! Do you already have the power wheels convertable Mustang in the garage for when he's old enough to drive it?

Hawg brought up the sleepless nights. My buddy read a book called "Baby Wise" and had both of his kids sleeping through the night in 3 weeks. Just a thought.

He's really cute! I had two car seats in the back of my 1992 GT. Now my oldest one is almost 14 and he's already eyeing my '07 as if it's going to be his!

I just bought on of those for my 3 year old. Pretty cool car/toy. He already smashed it in the garage, no damage but it proved to me I am never lending him mine.

Does the passenger seat really need to be moved all the way up? I'm contemplating getting a Bullitt, but am also about to have my first rugrat in mid-Feb, and am worried that if I can't put a carseat behind the passenger's seat, without having to slide it all the way up, my wife won't be able to sit comfortably (she's 5'5").

No way for the seat to go behind me (6'5").

We do have an SUV (Vue) and I drive an old Cherokee, so we're covered for roomy vehicles for long drives, however if we were to go out in the Bullitt, it sounds like it might not be feasible, accomodation-wise, once the kid arrives?

I have an 05 GT...oh ya, and twin 3 yr old boys... ...Never had the baby baby seats in, prob be tight, but after a couple months they go to the sit up seats (20-80 lbs)..I have two of them in my muzzy and although I get kicked in the back of my seat its very do-able...the kids actually love the car because our cars sit up higher in the back..one of the only cars they can see out the front window of and get the driving experience from the back seat, my wifes 04 SE Altima only lets them see the back of the seats..enjoy by the way, it gets easier..

No, the passenger seat does NOT have to be moved up. I have had a car seat in my 'Stang for the last 1.5 years, and I (5'11"), g/f (5'3"), and baby have done many road trips with no trouble.

You will have to move the passenger seat up a couple of notches but no big deal.

My girl is turning 3 and she now has a booster seat - it fits fine in the back and there is still no trouble with fit. She *loves* the Stang and always says, "go fast Daddy! Go fast!"

I wouldn't worry about it. Enjoy the Stang and congrats with the little one!

Using the anchors on the seat: put the base on the Hump in the middle of the back seat.
Hook the left anchor into the inboad driver's side attach point.
Hook the right side into the passenger side attach point it may be a stretch but mine did it. Snug the base up.
The baby seat will then wedge between the front seats.
An added bonus is that Tate will be in the safest area of the car.

PS:+1 on the exhaust lulling the kid to sleep; still works at 11 months (as of today)

I have been driving my soon around for a year now. You do have to move the seat forward. My wife who is 5 feet tall can fit but nobody else. However when he is over 20 pounds and a year old, you can turn the seat around and its fine.

I wonder if this would work w/driver's seat all the way back? Doubt I'd get that lucky (wife wants baby seat in middle because "you're supposed to"...)

Thanks Jeff --
I'll try the center-mount. If it works, I'll snap a few pics for you guys.
Thanks for the kind words from everyone about the Tot.
