Hello everyone,

I picked up my black GT a couple of weeks ago and I'm looking forward to learning from some of you hot-rodders on this board. I've got some plans for my new steed .

I've attached a pic. Currently, the only mods to my ride are silver racing stripes, tinted windows, and Street Scene side louvers. It has the ford Bullitt 17s on there but they are going soon for some chrome 18s.

Hmmm, it said filesize is too big. I'll shrink it down and try again.

Very nice. Congrats on the new car. I love to see other people's clean black cars, but I'd never own another one again. It's very tempting though.

Yeah,

black is a real dust magnet. That's why I go over it once a day with my California Duster. Works great between washes!

One thing I've always wondered about those California Car Dusters on black cars: Doesn't the brushing/wiping of the dirt and dust off the car make it leave scratches of some kind? I know it's a soft duster, and I'm sure you lightly go over the car with it, but doesn't it make marks in the paint as the dirt particles are dragged accross the paint? I've always wondered about that.

I think the key is to use it while there is still only a light layer of dust (like daily). I wouldn't use it if there was too much dust, 'cause yeah, then it probably could potentially scratch the paint. Funny thing too, with the dusters, the more you use them, the better they get. It's like "dust attracts dust".

Welcome Brother Robert....... Yeah, I'm going to go 18" myself when I wear out the tires. I've already contacted American Racing, and they will custom build my wheels for me with the correct Mustang GT backspacing. 18x8 fronts.......18x10 rears.
