Need some tire size advice

So I finally think I'm set on the wheels I want. I'm still kinda up in the air on if they fit with the style of my car and if they'll look good with Tungsten.

Now I just need help with the size. American Muscle Doesn't carry tires to fit these wheels yet, and I don't think I can wait on them to(I e-mailed them and they said it's in the works but no time frame) I'm planning on 19" x 8.5" up front and 19" x 10" in the back. So what do you guys think?

Jenks,
Nice rims, have you seen them on any Mustang yet? If not try getting someone to do a photoshop for you of them on, sometimes they don't look as good on. As for the tires, why not just order them from tirerack or discount tire direct and just get them mounted. I understand trying to save a buck believe me but if thoses are the rims you want don't short change yourself you'll regert it.

Rich,
Regarding your links: The front tire is an all season touring tire (which is fine even though the Mustang isn't really a touring kinda car but to each his/her own lol) and the rears are winter tires(winter tires should be all around not just rears). I don't think you ment to link those winter tires unless you planned on getting a set of winters too and mounting them on your bullitts which wouldn't be a bad thing. I use my stock wheels as my winter wheels.

sorry Jenks not to thread hijack.
Thanks Michael, I hadn't thought about the touring style, you are right. I was really going to order those backs so thanks for stopping me and the advice.

Soooo Jenks... what are you trying to accomplish with the ride and handling?

Running 255/40R19's up front and 285/35R19's in the rear should produce some excellent results in terms of road holding and ride comfort as well as offering reasonable protection against curbing.

The staggered sizes will increase understeer to some degree (you can try playing with tire pressures to offset this effect - a trick the germans are famous for doing. BMW most notably).

Granted these are stock GT500 sizes, but its a no brainer fit and any negative effects should be mininal as its around the magic Mustang 27" over all diamter size front and rear.

Road holding and ride comfort are the big things I'm wanting. I'm also planning on getting FRPP Springs and shocks and struts. Not sure how that will affect it.

Now I just have to figure out if these are the wheels I want to go with for sure.

Thanks for the info!

The FR3 kit? That'll be fun and the front sawy bar has 3 settings. I ran the same kit on my old 07GT with 255/45R18 KDWII's all around on the 18" polished bullitts and put the front bar on the middle setting. The car was a blast and stuck to the road like glue.

I never got around to putting in the X-2 ball joints or Edelbrock UCA, but did install some BMR LCA relocators.

You'll find the suspension kit really helps with high speed control on the bumpy stuff, but the tires are where the grip really comes from (provided your going from all-season tires to summer tires).

The suspension and tire change alloweed me to pick up as much as 30 mph on my favorite twisty road (mainly due to compliance) and on one particular on-ramp it allowed a very safe gain of 15mph.

The best one though was the last day I had the car, I didn't even think about it, but had to do a U-turn and just cranked the wheel going from the south bound left lane to the north bound right lane and never hit the brakes while doing around 25 mph. The car never skipped a beat.
