Hey Mehall,

If you are looking for a great quality but reasonably priced set of rotors and pads, I would highly recommend the Power Stop Brake Rotor & Pad Kit.

In my opinion you can't beat them when it comes to the bang for your buck.

The kit will come with everything you need to re-do your brakes on all 4 corners!

Hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions!

-Will

Raybestos brakes are nice, got all 4 disc plus pads for $150 IIRC at a local brake shop that usually sales parts at 20%-30% cheaper then the brand auto parts store.

Agreed with Above if not R! they use Centric brake rotors like the rest or I use Raybestos. Those are the best. I just can not get them here.

One of the things I have been taught is the biggest cause of warped rotors is folks not carefully using air guns to torque the lugs down. Most lugs are supposed to be torqued to somewhere around 70-85, but the air guns can produce as much as 300.

Something to keep in mind on the install.

I always buy Rotorpros zinc coated rotors. They don't get rings of rust like the cheap rotors do.

Same, I've had really good luck with them. Good pricing, fast shipping and they'll coat the rotors whatever color you want!

My son got a job with an auto store around the time I needed breaks & I felt the shudder starting to come and this would have been the third set & I did not want to keep the cheap ford oem parts so I went with Raybestos rotors & pads all around. What would have cost me close to $900.00 was all $479.00 .
I have had on since July 2014 now & like them excellent stopping almost too much for the the car I feel if I had to apply that the body just may fly off the frame that good , no more ugly dust on the rims & in our air is nice.

No sweat Will, glad to help out. I know there are big brake kits available at AM but for a daily driver street Mustang this set is easily more than enough. A buddy of mine put a set on his G8 made by the same company and really likes them.

James ! Hope this doesn't come off as being a dumb question, but do the Raybestos brake pads have asbestos in their linings ?

The reason for asking is that most manufacturers aren't allowed to sell products that include asbestos in them due to causing cancer.. However I feel it's such a stupid and ridiculous reason, as you would have to be directly exposed to the asbestos in order to get cancer from it to begin with..

Anyhow just my $.02

They did back in the day, and they lasted for ever, according to my dad. He worked at a shop for years while going to school. However, it is my understanding that they no longer have asbestos in their pads due to government regulations.

And that's exactly what was so great about them as they lasted forever plus they didn't squeal as compared to what we've had since then..

On a lighter note, a friend of mine happens to know someone who's still able to get re-manufactured brake pads made for 60's classic cars such as the road-runner which are still made from asbestos..

I'll post more info the next time I talk to him !

I completely agree with you 3point7,

I have had numerous big brake cars (including my current Brembo GT) and for a reasonably priced kit, Powerstop really hit the nail on the head!

I have had zero complaints with these and for the price they are almost unbeatable!

If anyone needs anything, feel free to reach out!

Powerslot slotted rotors, Hawk HPS pads(HP+ before these), Stoptech stainless lines and Motul rbf600 fluid. Slots don't produce spider cracks, are fully functional and the pads are a thing of beauty. I have used this setup on the track(road course, not parking lot) without havibg to worry about fade. If this is going to be your daily "I don't want to spend too much" then r1 concepts and others will do the job, but if you're at all track oriented step it up, especially with by adding stainless lines.

Either way change your fluid. I bet its disgusting.
