Do you have a local television station that runs "on your side" type stories? Typically they run stories where an unscrupulous business practice has caused problems for an individual. Where I live, the local Fox network affiliate has the franchise. In another market, I've seen similar stories on the local NBC affiliate. Good old fashioned public shaming often works...

problem with Ford is the car was bought used...regional rep *might* be willing to help...Ive got a few regional reps filed away somewhere here too- Ohio/Pa/Jersey...but they are from 05/06...
if you'd bought it new, it would be more likely talking to Ford might help- I really think if used though. they wont get involved at all- would maybe open a can of worms for them...find out for sure if your car had the standard warranty at 5/60...even the crap CRC hotline should be able to tell you that from the vin- hopefully the dealers being honest, but I'd want to see the printout

Great news!! I knew one of the 3 warranties you had would have to cover it. Any idea what the problem was? With the engine anyway.

i was told that ford was just going to do what was right and repair the car. for the 100.00 deductable on the powertrain. i also did some research on warranties through ford. i cancelled my members choice warranty and contacted three dealerships to get prices all of which were any where from $1,600 to $2,000. i went on line and got a phone number from ford esp. my three year 36k was already up and they sold me a ford premium warranty for $1115.00 they were definatly the cheepest they were very easy to deal with. told me i could pay all up front or pay 53.00 per month for the next 14 or 17 months. now my car is covered for an additional three years to 60k which ever comes first. just to let you all know that going straight to esp is definatly cheeper than going through a dealer.... thanks guys and gals

Nevermind, answered my own question about warranty coverage. I found this online about the 2006's with the 60K mile warranty...

A 2006 Model Year Ford vehicle sold on or after July 14, 2006 will be covered by a complimentary 5year/60,000 Mile Ford ESP Powertrain CARE extended service contract with a $100 deductible. For 2007 Model Year Ford products the warranty is fully transferable with no deductible.

So it is an ESP that is transferrable. That is why you have had such problems, that is the warranty that you never got transferred until it was too late. Makes sense now.

when i did my h/c install... at 40K, noticed my tensioners were very weak, and chains were a link longer than the new ones, so I replaced all guides, tensioners, phasers, chains, etc...

Make sure they do this as well as the 'motor', or it may happen again

Well that's pretty discouraging.

Glad this had a happy ending. I didn't think Ford would stiff you on this.

Lawyer up. The worst that can happen is you put in a new 5.0L 3V stroker w/ forged internals and a 15 psi Whipple.

I am happy for you too! Sounded like a lawyer thing there for a while. A buddy I work with had his engine blow at 39,000 miles (an 03 montecarlo) but since he had all his oil changes done at the dealership and there was an issue (tsb) already he also got a new engine.
ENJOY THAT "NEW" MUSTANG!!!
P.S. Nice Car!
