Need help !
Need some help . I went to Summet ford today to order some parts for my 05 GT ,
started taking with the sale guy. He tells me that they will trade me 04 cobra convertibe for my 05 GT
Went on a test drive and the power in that cobra was wild . That cobra will blow the doors off my GT . So what do I do ?

Even with drastic discounts and rebates, etc. there is no way(IMO) they will sell it for what you paid for your 05 GT, if you paid MSRP or less.
Even if you got the fully loaded $30k GT, thats a heck of a lot less than $39k.
But if he is serious, get the sales manager involved and get a firm trade in price for your GT and a firm price of the cobra. From what you've said so far it doesn't seem the talk about money has gone beyond the general salesman BS.

Factory S/C, forged internals, 6-spd, HD clutch, IRS, 17 x 9s w/275s, that's $13-15K in upgrades. Tough call since the GT has so many goodies and killer look of its own, and, you could improve its performance by 15% with less than $2K.
You could switch to the Cobra, keep it and experience it for a couple of years, then get the new Cobra. You might even come out ahead in a trade if you take care of it.

I think a lot depends on your use of the car. I personally would not do it. To me, the 300 H.P.'s is plenty, if I want more I can do some minor mods. The car for me will be a car for the weekends and road trips. For that, I prefer the head turning good retro looks of the '05. If you're planning on taking it to the track, or 300 H.P.'s isn't enough for you, well then get down to that dealership, if it's just about the money you can't go wrong.

1. The cobra has been recked.
2. The cobra a lot of miles on it.
3. The sales guy is bluffing.
4. You are bluffing.
Pretty simple situation.
