Please...the audio controls, stalks, headlight controls, speakers...are al not "retro". The steering wheel may look similar to an old mustangs, but a 3 spoke steering wheel in and of itself is not retro. I see where the dash is made to look like that of an older car, but to have those ridiculous old style numbers in the guages, just looks plain silly. If they stuck a normal looking font in those big dials, it would look so much better. Bottom line, the ONLY thing that is retro about that interior is the top of the dash, and those guages. You crop that out and you are sitting in a brand new VW.

It was kind of funny. The people that didn't like the exhaust sound were for hte most part. 5.0 engine owners. And a couple of them don't like the mod motors to begin with.
3 valves will always make a certain sound, with bassanis it should HOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWLLLLLLLLL
I own a 97 Thunderbird LX with a 2V 4.6 V8 in it, and it makes more sound than what I heard at Legends Field. Of course I removed the resonator/silencer and the mufflers are not original. I was very let down by the exhaust note at Idle, and the Ford Guy that was revving it wouldn't get on it while I was there.

I don't dislike 5.0's I had a Lincoln Mark VII LSC with a 5.0 but I love the sound a 4.6 makes, it does remind me of an Exotic V8, or a Race Car when you really get into it. I will definitly be getting some exhaust work done to Beef Up the Exhaust Note on my 05! It doesn't sound as good at idle to me as I would like.

My only complaint is still the retro guarges...i hope ford ditches them in 2006. Nothing else about the interior is retro, they just looks silly.
Nope, nothing else about the interior is retro at all...

Nothing but the 3-spoke wheel, auto shift ****, brushed aluminum, shape of dash, etc...
Thank You !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They put the old style numbers in because they look retro, and most people think they look wicked. As for the controls of the lights, audio, a/c etc. There are a lot more things that those components do now that they didnt do 40 years ago. There needs to either be much more buttons, or something like the 05 mustang uses to control the lights. The speaker covers are the only thing in the interior that looks like it doesnt belong.

I had another odd revelation about the 05 on Sunday. Has anyone looked at the bottom of the spoiler. There are cutouts in the bottom like they were trying to save weight. If someone else has a picture they can post. I can't download from my camera until tomorrow. But it is an odd look to the underside of the spoiler. Not that anyone would notice unless you really looked.

Here's a pic I took back early on the Pony Drive. Don't know what the grooves are for. I just assumed that it had something to do with wind resistance or wind noise reduction.

I noticed that as well way back when. I doubt it has to do with weight savings as the spoiler is hollow. If anything, it might weigh a touch more because of the extra material to make those groves instead of being smooth.

I have a feeling it has to do with airflow..... I'd laugh if the spoiler was made to be even somewhat functional.
