I didn't get much time with it today. They had it there for the start of pony trails. And will be there sunday for the people's choice show. Some people loved the sound of the exhaust some didn't. Though more liked it than didn't. And it's pretty nice for a stock exhaust. If I ever figure out how to download and edit my video footage I will share. Sorry all you photoshoppers. But even as good as your work is. To me at least they pale in comparision to seeing it in person. Little things you never really notice.
My review.
Seeing someone my height getting into the back. Showed that while there is more room there. It's definately not an easy fit.
Also those vents open up a lot more than current stangs. Though not really surprising since there are fewer slats.
While I appreciate the weight savings of the magnesium valve covers. I'm not sure if they needed or what. But they were kinda ugly looking.
The caliper to wheel clearance on the front wheels. Well let's just say don't curb the wheels.
The suspension seemed pretty tight. 3 fullsize (Yes I use the term liberally) men got into it. And it did not noticeably sink down.
If the body panels fit as well as the car I saw. I will be a very happy person.
The only real negative I can say. I'm not sure about the e-brake position. I'd have to get into the car and feel it out. But it looks like it would take a little getting used to. And you may not have an easy time getting it into gear before letting off the e-brake.
Many people who weren't really considering getting one. Now have been converted. I will post more Sunday. But just had to share my first time seeing it in person. :worship:

if the exhaust tone is at all better than the current GT then im sold. Mach 1 quality would be nice but current GT surpassing would make me one happy future stnager.

One more day! I'll be up there tomorrow to see it, can't wait. I'm going to run by the store today and pick up a couple of extra 128MB smart media cards. Even at 4 megapixel that should give me enough room to get all the pictures I can stand...

It was kind of funny. The people that didn't like the exhaust sound were for hte most part. 5.0 engine owners. And a couple of them don't like the mod motors to begin with.

Doh!

I think the 4.6L's sound just fine. But I do think the 5.0L sounds better.

i really dont compair the sounds between the two. they dont sound alike in the least. the 4.6 with its multiple cams doesnt have that deep low throaty sound of the 5.0 but the 4.6 also sounds more like a V8 exotic. and sounds better as the revs climb

I like the sound of my 87 GT better than the sound of my 2001 GT. The 87 GT sounded meaner. But, I will take the new 390hp SVT Cobra over all of them!!

My only complaint is still the retro guarges...i hope ford ditches them in 2006. Nothing else about the interior is retro, they just looks silly.

I have a feeling you are in the vast minority on that one. Don't hold your breath for 06.....I'm sure they'll be there for the entire run.

Except in the case of the four valve Cobra, I don't think that having separate cams actuating the valves makes one bit of difference in how it sounds. More likely that the difference in sound comes from 1) the 0.4L less displacement, and 2) the different bore/stroke ratio.

Actually, I'm not so sure about that. The 4v 4.6 and the 2v 4.6 sound pretty different. The 4v has a much more mechanical sound to it. It does have the sound of a smaller, exotic V8. There are few cars that sound better than the 4v to me. I'm sure the bore/stroke and displacement have much more to do with it. I'm just saying I think the cams, valvetrain, bascially the heads in general also have a lot of effect on the sound of an egine too.

Nope, nothing else about the interior is retro at all...

Nothing but the 3-spoke wheel, auto shift ****, brushed aluminum, shape of dash, etc...
