My Super Snake is completed

My Super Snake was completed today. White 2008 GT500 with 725HP.
The car looks absolutely beautiful, it looks even better than I thought it would.
Car needs to still be road tested and dyno'd. Hopefully I'll be able to pick it up within a few days.

I went down to Sean Hyland's early this evening and took some video of it.
Shelby let me pick my own Super Snake number and I since I'm a fireman I picked 911 ( for 9-11), probably might seem silly but it adds a bit of personal touch to the car.

Awesome, its looks great!

On a side note, they must pay firemen a hell of a lot more there than they do here.

I dropped the car off in late Nov. 2010, so it took 6 months. It was only suppose to take 6-8 weeks but Shelby had supply problems. I think the drop in the US economy hurt their suppliers and also how much stock Shelby was willing to keep on hand. A major delay was caused by Shelby changing manufacturers for their hood. Shelby was not happy with the quality of the hoods and would not ship the hoods until they met their standards.

In the end it wasn't a big deal having to wait. The winter was long and cold and spring has been cold and wet. Weather is just now warming up.

Well I've been on the dept. for 30 years now and I'm a Capt., so I make a bit more. I'm also at the point in my life where my kids are grown and gone and I don't really give a crap about racking up debt. You only live once and at 52 the clock is ticking on me. My parents left me 5k when they died so I think I'm on pace to leave that same amount to mine.

Oh please, soon as you croak that SS is going to be on the market the next day. They'll be getting more than 5K. (psst, tell them to call me! )

Wow man, I'm so happy for you. That looks awesome!

Now all you have to do is mash the happy pedal at least once for all the rest of us envious people on this board!

Very nicely done! It looks great. You should bring it out to the show on June 5th. Here is a link.
