Get them to put ropes around it...otherwise somebody is going to do something.

And see if he can take $500 off or so for your "inconvience".

I completely agree. If it is not roped off what is going to stop people from sitting inside to take a look, popping the hood, leaning on it etc etc. I only say this cause I know I would be one of those people

They definately should reduce the price you are paying.

Too bad you couldn't take it home and just wash it up and bring it back after a week.

Yes he owes you something, if not something more off what your all ready paying.
At very least he owes you some accessorizes or free service for a year or two.

I wouldn't do it

1) have to wait another week

2) nothing in it for you, especially if they never gave you a deal on it

Something doesn't sound right about that. Dan hit the nail on the head, why not give you the car, and you go back seven days later for the hoopla?

I'd do it in a heartbeat -- thanks to you, others will have the opportunity to look (but NOT touch!) a car they may never own. Ok, so maybe you should get paid for this event

PS -- If there's free food involved, you better be there with a digicam (for the Mustang, not the deli trays)

Yeah, that doesn't seem right at all. OR...have them give you a sweet t-bird or something for the week, to drive arround.

I wouldn't do it either without something off of my price. To heck with all this unveiling, I'd be like just give me my car. Too many dealerships out there selling them everyday now to be unveiling again. Just my .02 worth.

Not sure I would do this simply because I couldn't wait. Pure and simple.

Why not just take it and drive it back in for the party?

If you wait an extra 7 days your a better person than I am. When my GT shows up I plan on camping out waiting for it to arive.

The owner of the dealership I ordered my 05 GT from called me this morning. He said he just called Ford to see if my Gt would arrive before the second one he ordered to be put on his lot. Mine is being built today, and should be delivered to his dealership on 11-11-04. which would make mine the first 05 Mustang to arrive at his dealership. They are having a 2005 unvailing party at his dealership on 11-18-04. He ask me if he could hold mine until the 18th to unvail it to all of the people that come to the party, and he wants me to be there and see it for the first time along with everyone else. He assured me that when they unload it off the truck they would cover it and put it in the back parking lot. They also have a F250 Truck a Ford 500, and a Freestyle that they will unvail also. I told him that would be o.k. I have waited this long for it seven more days won't kill me. I think it would kinda be cool to be the center of attention at the party. You know everyone will be around my Mustang, and not those other cars. Do you guys think i'm crazy for doing this?

Charge them $200 / day while they have it.

No way I'd do it though.

Don't let anyone set their drinks down on the hood. :notnice:

Tell him to give you $500, and it's a deal.

Yep I agree. I wouldn't even want to have anyone near my car. It'll be cool for a second to be able to say yeah that's my car, but you'll have the stains, scratches and scuffs to remind you of it for years to come.

Wait 7 more days. Go to the dealer and watch your car and enjoy. It'll be fun to be the center of attention. Plus, saying no will not bode well for your customer-dealer relationship. And there are many people like us that would love to take a look at your car at the celebration.

I don't think I could wait an extra week without something in return. I would at least check to make sure they are not charging you an advertising fee (i.e. FDAF) since you should be charging them one.
