Guys i am still so siked! MY 18th birthday was on March 22nd, so I am officially allowed to test drive cars. I posted a couple months ago about my Screaming Yellow GT test drive, but my craving for the Mustang GT won't go away! So i decide to testdrive again since Im official. I go up to Lakeland Automall and the Legend Lime GT is waiting for me. The car has been calling me for weeks but i resisted. My salesman is a nice guy and I ask for a testdrive. Were off! Once we switch seats and the adventure begins! The traffic wasn't great and I was little nervous about the 5 Speed. We jumped on the highway and I watched in horror as a tanker almost flipped over in front of me. Once on urban streets I decide to have a little fun! I take a turn and halfway through FLOOR IT! DAGUM! The rear starts to swing out as i (sort of ) expected!

I reassured the salesman that i couldn't resist and that it would be the only time! He was having fun the whole time! The nervousness caught up to me once i hit traffic. I stalled , but dropped it to first cranked her and dropped the clutch! MY FIRST BURNOUT! I am still so siked! I talked to the salesman about me getting into a GT. With the X-PLAN and yearend sales it could wittle the price to a reasonble payment(200-300 per month)! I can't decide if I should get a Datsun 240Z or pull for a GT. I know the insurance would kill! What should I do?

Ooh! For those interested they have a Black GT Vert with red interior, almost loaded I don't recall the price. It is a really pretty car!

200-300 payment for a gt, thats a lot of money down to get that payment. I put 4000 down, taxes and total with addons came to 377.00 a month for 6 years at 5%. I wish mine were 200 lol, lol.

Joel,

Year end sales? On the GT? Good luck, hope you get the car but you better sit down and crunch the numbers again. Let us know how it all comes out.

LOL--I'm a little over twice the original poster's age and have only sat in the GT. I probably could have done a test drive in the V6, but for one reason or another have not. Even with all that, my GT is on order and I expect to have a blast once I get behind the wheel.

Regarding the financing, my order is an x-plan and with the options in my sig goes for almost exactly $26k, which becomes $28,600 with tax and tag. To get $250 a month payments I would only be able to finance $13500 of the total (60 months @ 4.49%). So the "down payment" would be $15100.

If anyone wants to play loan amount what-if's, here is a decent applet: http://www.dinkytown.net/java/SimpleLoan.html
