My Dilema!
O.K. I need some input. Should I sell my 2006 GT and my 1993 Cobra. I definately have a sickness when it comes to cars, having 6 in the past 2 years. I always liked the aura or mystique of having a limited edition car. I purchased my 93 Cobra a couple of years ago and the car is brand new. It only has 10k and it still smells brand new. I bought it with the intentions of taking my kids to car shows when they grow up and also the car is close to a classic in years. I put less than 50 miles on it this year and maybe 200-300 since I bought it. Now I have my 06 Vista and I hardly ever drive that. The reason is at my first job I have no place to park it and my second job I use a van. If I was to be able to sell both and get my hands on a Shelby now or in time, would you sell both? I have a great connection at a Ford dealer and the person said she was going to ask her regional rep. today about the Shelby and was going to try to see how it would be to get me one. But even if I wait till all the hoopla is over I'll still get one in time. Again, would you sell? Thanks. Sorry I spelled Dilemma wrong.

I don't know. Obviously I am for the Shelby for myself but to have two great cars like that it would be a hard choice. I guess the question would be do you enjoy having the GT for regular driving and your Cobra for shows or would you rather have the Shelby for shows and drive one of your other 4 vehicles. If you other 4 vehicles are a Pinto, Gremlin, etc I would have to stay with the GT.
Like I said I'm biased on the Shelby but maybe you could instead wait and get the V6 Shelby or the next SE instead?

I guess I should of said that I purchased 6 cars in 2 yrs. but traded every one in. I have my van I drive everyday, my wifes SUV, then I have the 06 and 93. I just thought instead of having 2 great cars that I'm not really driving I might as well go for the "ULTIMATE" Mustang. Just don't want to say in the future, " I should of never sold that 93", just like we and our parents did.
If you havn't ordered a Shelby by now with a significant deposit, I would not expect to get your hands on one. That, and it'd probably cost you 60 grand or more after markup. I'd keep what you have really.
I'd get a Saleen if I were you though.

6 cars in 2 years, and traded them all in?
I'd stop buying cars
I don't know what to tell you about your 93. I guess if you've kept it this long, you might as well keep it.
As far as the 06 goes, you haven't even had it a month yet... and it sounds like you won't be putting very many miles on it either. I think you need to decide what your goal is. I doubt your 06 will ever become a "collector" car... so my advice would be either to drive it or sell it.
I'm sure the 07 Shelby would be sweet, but I'm a little biased. I always prefer the limited-edition cars go to people who will drive them. I see the 07 having the same fate as your 93.
But hey... it's your decision... do what you'd like. Just pick something and keep it already, or your wife may run out of patience.

Your so right, she just says I'm nuts. So if you had one more shot, would you sell both and go for the Shelby?

Keep those cars. That Cobra is beatiful and the 2006 looks great too. I wouldn't even think of getting rid of them unless you had a guarantee you are going to be able to get a Shelby. They are going to be very limited production expecially in 2007 and people are paying outragious amounts to get them. Plus the more you pay to get the Shelby the longer it will take to get the return on that investment if you plan on selling. I say keep the two you have.
P.S.
Got any more pics of that Cobra? :worship:

Whatever you do, some how try and keep the 93 Cobra! I regret selling mine..

I'm glad you guys are saying that. It really helps. When I get a chance to pull her out I will have more. She's loaded w/ leather and sunroof.
Since you don't drive them that much, and I assume the depreciation is HUGE, maybe you should consider a classic Muscle car from the 60s-early 70s.
For the price of a new 07 Shelby ($50,000) you can get several HOT Fords/Mercurys: 69/70 428 CJ Mach 1, 69-70 Cougar XR-7 428CJ convertible, 69-70 428CJ/BOSS 302 Cougar Eliminator, Mustang BOSS 302/351, Talledega, 429CJ Cyclone Spoiler/Torino Cobra, etc. etc. Some of them are pushing over $50K already, depending on the state of rstoration.
You probably couldn't touch any 65-70 Shelby for under 50K now though. Or a 68 427 GT-E Cougar (nice ones are over $100K), BOSS 429, GT-40 (LOL),
Keep the 06 GT and get something that's fun, that appreciates, that you'll keep! Classics aren't for everybody; you need to do your research, and you can't just run down to your local Ford dealer to find one....but that's part of the "fun"....and no you don't have to be a mechanic.
"I should of never sold that 93", just like we and our parents did." You'll have to wait another 10 years for the 93 Cobra to be collectible. But you can buy that dream collector car now.

Thats what the guys at work tell me. I love the way the 60's stangs look on the outside but I'm just not a fan of the interiors. I think this retro one has the classic look with modern day technology. I just thought it would be better having one special car but you guys are right.
