Said they know what Mustangs are being delivered to their dealership, and that they arrival date is October 1, 2004. They are getting 3 GT's ( red, silver, and black), and 12 V6 models.

Said if I don't like any of those coming in, I can order what I want and they will have it in 8 to 12 weeks?!

Rene - did you talk price at all? Is your dealer sticking firm to MSRP on the cars coming and/or the customer orders?

All they said was they would not charge MORE than MSRP.....so I am thinking that might leave a little room for negotiation.....( I hope).

Is that when the cars should be going to dealers? October?

I have heard other people say 6-8 weeks. Maybe he is telling you something conservatively.

Most people are saying mid-Oct, but my dealer told me mid-Nov (I am still not sure about that).

Shoot, a few months back when I went in to a local dealer, he told me not until January.

I got the dealer to $400 below MSRP, and a free window tinting! The dealer is expecting delivery the week of Oct. 4th, but as of now, it is still listed as "TBD" in the computer.

There is absolutely no way that the dealsership is going to get in 15 o5's in October. The initial allocation is about 2 or 3, there is absolutely now way that they are getting in that many. They are lying to you.

I was told the goal was 3 at a time maximum to each dealer, in the beginning, then go from there. @5000 dealers that is at least 15000 cars built. But if the dealer only ordered one it could be less. I think Ford is trying to be fair to all the dealers at first, then if one of them has more orders, then they will get theirs then.

Remember, dealer's know NOTHING.
I'm sure many of us had this happen:
One dealer tried to tell me 6 months ago he would have one in late July or early August.
He even stuck to his story when I told him that wasn't possible because of Job 1 being Sptember 7th!
Of course I called him at the end of August and asked where his Mustang was. He denied he ever told me August.

The beginning of October is what we are estimating. I have not heard of Mustangs actually being shipped, or anyone with a real, verifiable delivery date. Ours are showing TBD.

2MustangJohn (the AAI line worker) just posted that they have NOT loaded any '05s onto the train cars yet.

I think John said that they are building about 650 Mustangs a day right now. At that rate it will take 23 working days to build enough '05s for each dealer to get 3 cars. Since they work 5 days a week at AAI, that's almost 5 weeks. So it seems pretty much impossible that the dealer would be getting 15 - 20 Stangs in October.

Terry, that's the same as what I've heard. About 3 per dealer to start off. But up here in la la land, [east coast Canada] my salseman has been trying all summer to get one for the annual Mustang meet at the local Ford Dealership, which is tomorrow, and he can't even get one. Go figure! COMON FORD WAKE UP! :moose: :drive:

Maybe he's expecting a shipment at the end of October? Was it a large dealer that might have a higher priority?

My salesman and a customer service rep both told me end of july or in august. I went to pay them a nice little "where's your 05 Mustangs" visit last week and amazingly neither of them work there anymore. I knew they were lying to me thanks to this site and I wanted to see what they had to say about it. Oh well, maybe I'll see them on the side of the road some day and I can show them the sale they missed out on. The dealership has been very good to me so I was glad to hear they are gone! End of rant,,thanks for listening!

When I ordered mine Saturday (9-11), the sales manager said they had 8 coming in mid October. One customer order and seven dealer. These guys are not BSer's. We shall see.

So do any of your orders actually say they've been built? Mine was scheduled for yesterday, but I haven't checked to see if the status has changed yet.

Kinda off topic - I stopped in to Brandon Ford (Florida) last week while in the Tampa area to buy a house. They had like 25 2004's on the lot still. Everything from Machs on down. (and that was just what I could see - may be more in hiding.) They are a big dealer, but said they don't plan to run any "special" sales to move the 04s before November, as they don't plan to have more than 3-5 of the 2005s in before then.

I went to my dealer 2 days ago and he checked the status infront of me. I came to the dealership because i still wanted my build date (1st on the list, ordered 5/26, with priority 8)!! He showed me the computer and it said mine was PRODUCED!!!! they are getting 5 cars (3 GT, 2 V6) 2 of the GTs are built and the rest arent.
